• The Grid runs as a ‘start up’ service project from April 2009 to Mar 2011, funded through mixed core and project funding

• From April 2011 the Grid is to be sustained as a core service by Collections Trust as part of its mission to ensure that collections are accessible to all

• Developments to April 2010 focus on establishing technical systems and service management for adding, managing and supplying UK collections information

• Developments from April 2010 to Mar 2011 focus on operational service development, particularly increasing access to and use of UK collections information and ensuring continued growth and currency of content

• Over 730,000 object records, mostly images, from over 50 different collections of national, regional and local scope from museums, libraries and archives of all kinds

• Over 8,000 collection descriptions

• Covering all of UK and all subjects from pre-historic artefacts to contemporary zoology
