Aristotle is the man behind science. He went to anacademy that Plato established. He wrote 200 booksand he was 17 when he first went to the University

He questioned the thought, knowledge, human belief

of the world. He later invented ways to argue accordingto rules of logic. Aristotle then applied the method tosituations in the fields of psychology, physics andbiology. His work provides the basics of a scientificmethod used today. A famous pupil that he had was

    Chapter 3.

The Doctors OathDoctors in Ancient Greece were very helpful. They took an

oath to try their best to help a patient. Also, doctors wouldtest their medicines on people , so it may poison or

intoxicate them while testing it . Unfortunately, the doctorstested their new medicine on people so they can use themfor future use. But sometimes the medicine being tested

would get people sick and intoxicated. The oath wouldmake obligations for the doctors to bring them to health.

In some cases from ancient Greece doctors would tend togive up easily in finding a cure or deaths. The scientificmethod allowed you to test your thoughts or questions so

    you can find answers(cures).

Civilians point of view Many people thought that both philosophers were two

very wise men. Socrates and Aristotle both createdbeliefs that society use today. For example peopletoday use the scientific method that Aristotle believedin, they use the scientific method to make discoveriesare also used by scientists. The Socratic Method isused in our courts when a lawyer interrogates a

witness. As a result people look up to and are thankfulfor their contributions.

Socrates Death At the time, Socrates was accused of impiety (he didnt believe in the gods)

Athenians where very religious therefore they felt Socrates teachings whereagainst the teachings of the Athens and their gods. They felt this way becausehe questioned their beliefs and their teachings. He was sent to a trial and wassent to drink poison. There where many points in were he was able to escape or

had the chance to escape but he didnt, because he had felt it would go againsthis own philosophies. One of them was when he wakes up from his prison celland sees Crito his friend, next to him. Crito asks Socrates to leave with him butSocrates tells him no because it will show that he is against the state and it willshow he is afraid of death which both things against his own beliefs andprinciples as a philosopher. The poison he drank first began with numbing hislegs. Slowly the numbness crept higher to his body and slowly he was dying. Asthe numbness was about to hit his heart he then says his last words to Crito, hisfriend. He tells him "Crito, we owe a rooster to Asclepius. Please, don't forget topay the debt." Asclepius was the Greek god of curing illness, so he probablymeant that death is the cure for everything and once it is cured it sets him free.
