Sometimes, change can be so gradual you dont evennotice it happening. You suddenly dont mind sittingalone at a coffee shop, nor do you mind walking insteadof using a car. You start watching the news a lot and findthat conversations about the state of society are actuallyinteresting. Then there are the discoveries, and rediscoveries,you come across. That the drama of telenovelas is partiallytrue. That heartbreak can be physically manifested. Thatmeeting new people is intoxicating. That music is a healer.That friends are anchors, buoys, lifesavers. That family ishome. That goodness of heart is still in vigorous existence.That idealism and hope are needed. That life is passionate.That change should not frighten us, but instead, dare andinspire us to discover more. Because there is so much morecoming.What do we leave behind when we cross each frontier?Each moment seems split in two; melancholy for what wasleft behind and the excitement of entering a new land.
