with l aw and settled jurisprudence, confiscated or non-mailable mail

matters, prohibited articles,dead letters and undelivered mails, except

the sale of prohibited drugs, dangerous materials, and other banned

articles as defined by law.

The Philippine Postal Corporation PHLPost)isa government-owned and

-controllcd corporation created through Republic Act 7354 otherwise

known as Postal Service Act of 199 2 1 Its existence is nol driven merely

by profit but also by providing services to Filip inos as set forth in the Act.

Especially in the last four years, PHLPost has synchronized and aligned

its desired future state with the purpose of  ts existence. Even the

promotion of core values among postal stewards i s l in ked w ith its

development thrusts.

around the world. It has bilateral agreements with 59

partners for Express Mail Service  EMS  while

individuals, wherein 42.8 percent are letter carriers.

About 81.16 percent of the 7,043 authorized positions

a re already filled-up. The Central Office accounted for

14.29

percent of the manpower while theMega Manila

The share of logistics and warehousing services to total revenue

increased from0.25percent t o 1.38 percent in 2014. It generated

about 48.8 million pesos, which is five limes higher than Lhatof

2013 when it was initially of fered. Major clients so far are

g ov ernment agencies where transactions involved the

movement and/or storag e o f medicines, books, IT equipment,

and election paraphernalia. PHLPosl was able lo establish [ou r

warehouses, which include th e first temperature- con tro lled

warehouse  in SMED.

The Bids and Awards Committee completed 31 procurement projects in

2014 through public bidding, negotiated procurement, and direct

contracting for various supplies and services, vehicles, and IT

equipment and software. The total contract price amounts to

PhP300million, which

is
