Welcometo the Phoenix South Mountain Kroc Center“There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.” 1 Samuel 2:2

reetings!

Change is afoot! After the cool-down of fall and winter, flowers are in full bloom, the days are growing longer, and the heat of the Phoenix summer is upon us once again. In addition to these changes of the seasons, there is another change coming to the Kroc Center.

As officers in The Salvation Army, we know it is just a matter of time when we are given a new assignment and must follow God’s leading to another appointment. With that said, we have received notice that we will be moving this summer from the Kroc Center to a different opportunity for ministry. It has absolutely been our pleasure serving the South Phoenix

community through this amazing place. We were able to get to know many of you personally, and all of you have welcomed us with open arms and treated us with kindness.

As you welcome new Salvation Army officers to be the leaders of the Kroc Center in July, we know that you will extend to them the same welcome and kindness. Take a moment to greet them during their first weeks here and share with them how the Kroc Center has impacted your life. Surely they will be encouraged to hear your story.

As we depart, we are ecstatic about the future of the Kroc Center. With the LORD as its Rock, as well as the foundation of everything done here, though we move on, the excellence and love found at Kroc will not change - a beacon of hope in our community and hopefully in your and your family’s lives as well. We encourage you to take full advantage of all of the exciting opportunities this place has to offer. You will be blessed!

Sincerely,

CORE VALUES OF THE KROC CENTER

❖ COMMUNITY We are a beacon of hope in our community.❖ ACTIONS Our actions demonstrate excellence.❖ RESPECT We respect all individuals without discrimination.❖ ENTHUSIASM We work and play with enthusiasm.❖ SHARE We share God’s love with everyone.

ABOUT THE SALVATION ARMY

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865.

Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a wide array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. About 83 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly 9,000 communities nationwide.

MISSOULA CHILDREN’S THEATRE DAY CAMP: ALADDINFor more than 40 years, Missoula Children’s Theatre has opened both hearts and minds of children to the possibility of achievement through creativity and teamwork through participation in theatre arts. Last year, 45 youth participated in a fully student-cast production of ‘The Jungle Book.’ Kids worked hard to memorize their lines, build the set, and learn choreographed dances in just one week! This year, young performers will have the opportunity to be cast in the enchanted story of ‘Aladdin.’ Sign up today to ensure a spot for auditions, all actors are given a role! **Daily rehearsal times vary depending on casted role, when not rehearsing actors will be engaged in activities throughout The Kroc Center.**Grades: 1st-12thFee: $125/$150/$162DATES TIME DAY CLASS #

Page 19: Phoenix KROC Center Activity Book Summer 2016

SUNDAY WORSHIPSunday morning at the Kroc Corps (church) is designed to bring attention to God and honor Him for who He is and what He has done. We choose to worship and minister in such a way that makes those who enter feel comfortable and ready to discover new life in Christ in a fun, meaningful and loving environment.

MID–WEEK PROGRAMS

VOLUNTEER & SERVICE OPPORTUNITIESJesus says, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me… as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” Believers in Christ are called to reach out and bring love and aid to those who are hurting. We offer weekly and monthly opportunities to do just that–and you are invited! Please contact Matt Downsat 602-425-5010 if you are interested. Church
