PHOENIX PUBLIC LIBRARY’S SOLUTION

• Custom development in-house

• Cool stuff: Integrated customer experience, Custom developed features not offered by ILS vendors, Java/JSP database driven site, content managed by non-technical staff, Oracle Endeca Search API, ILS vendors developed APIs in partnership with PPL, load balanced WFEs, Index Servers, Clustered Database

• The drawbacks: No framework, non-standard database, resource intensive, Over a dozen web applications supported, sustainability, ILS vendors caught up
