Introduction

Photo Cam is a software design to help the user choose the best eyeglasses for

him/her. It is installed on a specially made computer (panel) that is used in optical

stores and won’t work properly on other personal computers.

Main features:

• Taking photos

• Taking photos based on motion detection (auto-shooting option)

• Recording 6 second video clips

• Viewing and comparing the photos and video clips in the Gallery

• Trying on “virtual” glasses

• Automatic pupils detection

• Autofitting the “virtual” glasses based on the user’s PD (pupils distance)

• Sorting “virtual” glasses by gender, type and brand

• Publishing the photos to Facebook

• Sending photos by email

• Option of printing the photos



Installing software

Installation is very straightforward, like shown on the picture below. There are 3

icons in the main folder. Run “setup” to start the installation.

When a window like on the picture below appears, click on “Install”. The

application will be installed and after that automatically started.



Adding virtual glasses

When the application is started for the first time it will create a new directory in

“Documents” named “PhotoCam” and in it a new directory named “Glasses”

(“C:\Users\”user name”\Documents”).

To add “virtual” glasses to the application put the photos of glasses to the

directory “Glasses” that has been created, like shown on the picture below.

Next time when the application is started all glasses in the “Glasses” directory will

be loaded in the application and sorted based on gender, type and brand.



Virtual glasses naming convention

When adding the photos of glasses in the application a special naming convention

needs to be followed (look at the picture below).

The first four letters (for example in the picture “MOKV”) signify the gender and

type of the glasses:

• MOKV - male regular glasses

• MSON - male sunglasses

• WOKV - female regular glasses

• WSON - female sunglasses

The next five symbols (for example in the picture “G0000”) signify if the glasses

are in Top 20:

• G0000 - glasses in Top 20

• G0001 - glasses not in Top 20

The following numbers (for example in the picture “-977480_”) are not important

for the application. They can be the product number that helps distinguish the

glasses.

Next comes the brand (for example in the picture “F-TITANIUM”), which signifies

the brand of the glasses as “TITANIUM”. Another example “F-O. MARINES” tells

that the brand is O. MARINES.



Next is the model of the glasses. There must be space after the brand and the

model must start with a number (for example in the picture “149 FLEX CL” the

model is: 149 FLEX CL).

Finally there is the size of the glasses. It starts with the symbols “--”, the first

number is “Lens Diameter”, then the symbol “-”, the second number is “Bridge

Width”. For example in the picture “--53-17”, lens diameter is 53 and bridge

width is 17.



Menu Page

To enter the Settings page press and hold the “Home” button for 3 seconds and

release. Enter the “Code” in the popup window (default is 1234). Click on

“Confirm”.

After that the “Menu” page will open. It looks like the photo below (this is on

Horizontal panel, it is similar on Vertical panel).



Settings Page

There are 3 settings views: general, company and email. After some settings are

changed, press the “Confirm” button.

General settings

In general settings the application can be customized, for example background

color.

Menu Code is the code that needs to enter when opening the Menu.

Camera settings opens default application of selected camera (if present) and

automaticaly opent the first screen of Take Photo window to se the camera

stream and to be able to set the camera parametas.

Motion detector sensitivity is used for managing the sensitivity of motion

detection. The range is from 0.01 to 0.3 (lower the number the more sensitive the

detector will be.



Company settings

In company settings you can see the information about the company using the

application. To add a logo just tap on the photo. This is important for the printing

option (if available).



Email settings

In email settings are settings for sending emails. The user will get an email with

the photo from that address and from that address the “Report issue” is sent.

In 'Subject' field enter the subject of the mail, in the 'Body' field enter the body of

the mail (that will be sent to user with the photo)



Report an issue

This is the window where user can send report of the problem encounterd with

the PhotoCam. The report will be sent by email, before that user need to set up

an email in the settings. In the 'TeamViewer id' field goes the teamViewer if for

that PC (every panel will have TeamViewer installed).

In the 'Email' field goes the email on which the user want the response to be sent

(if the email adress is the same as the adress in the email settings field can be left

empty).

In the 'Problem description' write down details about the problem.



Take Photo

This is the main page where the user can rotate the camera, take photos, record

video clips, compare photos etc.

New person

This button erase all the photos and video clips from previous user and set up

environmant for the new user

Set camera position

First user can modify the position of the camera to match his height, also user can

change a language by pressing on the flag in the bottom left corner. After that

press 'Confirm' button.



Real/Virtual glasses

After the user set the camera position he has another choice of 'Real' and

'Virtual' glasses. By pressing on the 'Real' here user can take normal photos and

record videos, and also see photos and videos in the gallery. By pressing on. On

the 'Virtual' screen user can take a photo and after that software will try to detect

eye pupils on that photo and open the environmant where the virtual glasses can

be added.

Real glasses

Here the user have a choice to open a screen for thaking a photo or screen for

recording the six seconds video clip.



Take a photo

The user takes photos by tapping the screen (default countdown is 3 seconds).

Auto shooting mode can be used, it is activated by pressing on the button

'Autoshoot' and after activation a circular icon shows in the top left corner. The

icon is red if it detects motion and green if there is no motion, in that case the

countdown is started (default 3 seconds). As long there is no motion photos will

be taken every 3 second max 4 photos and then opend in the compare view.

After the photo has been taken it will be shown in the tab at the left side and two

more buttons will be added ('Compare' and 'Share'), user can select one or more

(max 4) photos and click the 'Compare' button to open them in compare view.



Record a video

The user start the recording by tapping the screen, that will start the recorder and

6 seconds contdown. After the clip has been recorded the video frame will be

shown in the tab at the left side. If user press on the video frame it will be opend

in new screen where it can be played and compared with other clips.



Virtual glasses

Similar to the taking photo in 'Regular mode', user can start the countdown by

tapping the screen, or by starting the 'Autoshoot' function. On the tab at the left

side are all photos user has taken (regular and virtual) and user can open them by

selecting desired photo. The new photo after it has been recorded will be opend

in new environmant wher the user can add desired virtual glasses on the selected

photo.



Add Glasses

On this page the application tries to automatically detect the user's pupils on the

selected photo and mark them, like shown on picture below. The user can tweak

that by dragging the marks on top of the pupils.

The user needs to enter it's PD number. The glasses are scaled by it. Click

“Confirm” to confirm the input data and continue to virtual glasses selection. Click

“Dismiss” to go back to the “Gallery”.



After the user clicks “Confirm” he/she can choose any virtual glasses in the glasses

gallery (tab on the left side).

On the bottom right corner is transparent circle with controls for moving the

glasses on the photo, in the middle of that circle is round button that changes

controls to rotate the glasses.

In top left corner is 'Sort control', user can sort glasses by Gender, Type and

Brand.

The confirm button saves the photo with virtual glasses to the gallery and lets the

user add different glasses on the same photo.

The 'Back' button bring back screen wher user can take new photo (virtual) but

the changes on the photo wiil not be saved.
