Guard Shack and Plaque

Manzanar was the first of ten such concentration camps and was bounded by barbed wires and guard towers confining 10,000 japanese american citizens. Some had seen them as threats because of world war 2 and the attacks on Pearl Harbor.

EASTERN CALIFORNIA MUSEUM• Tiyo Miyatake was interned at

Manzanar concentration camp.even though cameras werent alllowed he found a way to sneak one in and take pictures. I reallly apprectiated what he had done at manzanar, and to capture the moments of what was going on was epic. I am a fan of his photography skills, lighting and for what he had to go through either emotionally because of the situation he was in, he still found a way to use his talents in photography to document an historic portion in Japanese/ American history.

IN TRANSIT-CUCAMONGA ALLUVIAL FAN

Bunna RoeumMany of years of rain, fire, flood and erosion shaped the San Bernardino Valley by building vast alluvial fans from material swept down from the mountains. These fans matter today because much of Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Rialto, San Bernardino and Highland were built on them.. Gravity and moving water sweep debris through canyons, dropping heavier matter first and carrying sand and silt farther, where it spreads outward in the shape of a fan.

The Doppler radar tower uses the Doppler effect to measure velocity. The Doppler radar tower can detect distant objects (weather in this case) and tell what i is and when it will come. Doppler radar tower basically is a radar to oversee the oncoming weather. News channels use this to tell us the forecast.

Owens Dry Lake held significant water until 1924, until much of the Owens river was diverted into the Los Angeles Aqueduct causing it to desiccate. Today, some of the flow of the river has been restored, and the lake now contains some water.
