Research of Locations I spent a morning in Manchester City Centre and took images which will closely link
and introduce the types of shots and locations we intend to use within our documentary. Here is the final and best selection, with commentaries on how we
intend to use them within our final product.
Long shot of Market Street
Here I have edited the shot and used Adobe Photoshop to change the image to black and white to compare if our filming would look more professional in natural colour or black and white. The conclusion made was that the documentary would be more realistic and professional if colour is used.
Mid low angle shot of the Manchester Wheel. Show the landmarks of Manchester. Creates a positive image in the audiences mind.
Low angle shot again. Indicates the superiority of Manchester compared the thugs who attempted to destroy the city.
Image of Manchester Street, quiet and relaxed. Emphasising how calm the City of Manchester really is. Helping to encourage tourists back into the city
Interview. Identity kept hidden? Silhouette may be used. Mid shot.
Long shot of king Street. Affected by the riots. With the help of the ‘I Love Manchester Campaign’, things are back to
normal.
Long Shot of desolate street in Manchester. Reconstruction?
Long Shot of Market Street. Another perspective, showing Manchester from different angles.
High angle medium shot. Using artificial lighting and editing using Adobe Photoshop, here I have created the visual effect that the shop across the road may be on fire. CCTV/ Amateur footage?
Miss Selfridge, involved within a lot of controversy surrounding the riots. Footage of
the reconstruction in process will show how the
store has recovered.
Long/ medium, point of view
shot
Silhouetted long shot of Market street. Edited using Adobe Photoshop, I have create the effect that some of the people on location wish to keep their identities a secret. Could be used so the audience can differentiate between the criminals and passersby.
A final shot of Manchester. Emphasising how it’s recovered and the optimistic and encouraging state its in now.
