WESTERN/BRITISH FASHION HISTORY

The history of Western fashion is basically a long story of the changing fashions in clothing for men and women in Europe and other countries under its influence (that is the Western world) from the 12th century to the present. From trailing skirts, to conservative dresses, to cowboy looks then skinny jeans and mini dresses.

AFRICAN

AFRICAN FASHION HISTORY

Black British is a term used to describe British people of Black African or African-Caribbean descent. The term has been used from the 1950s onwards to describe those of Sub-Saharan African ancestry, some of whom are from certain former British colonies in Africa or from the British West Indies who are residents of the United Kingdom and consider themselves British.

Traditional African women wear colourful scarves on their head in a stylish way. They usually wear a matching maxi-dress which is long and up to their feet.

Sarees are the graceful elegant clothing made out of silk. Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay is one if Indians fashion capitals. In some villages in India, traditional clothing is worn e.g. Sari which is a long sheet of colourful cloth with patterns.
