MY FASHION PROJECT. My fashion photography idea was to take photos of a

young girl who was feeling isolated shown through how happy she was when she had her eyes open and how sad she was when she had them closed. However, I found this idea quite difficult to achieve as my model was only 7 years old and she didn’t really understand the concept of my photos, so I decided to change my idea and make it natured themed. This included the girl being covered in flowers and leaves lay against a pink background and then in some photos, a white background. This was to show that the girl stood out being covered in bright colours against bold backgrounds.

Golden Daises. The main idea behind this photo was to create the image of sadness even though the model is dressed and presented in bright clothing and accessories. I used an fast shutter speed to avoid any blur motion to interrupt the photo as my model was brushing her fingers through her hair. The exposure on this photo was not high but not too low as I didn't want the photo to be damaged when I edited it in Photoshop. When editing, I decided to select just the model of this photo by using the 'Quick select' tool and cutting her out to paste

onto a new layer I did this so that I could focus on the background to make it brighter as all of the light seemed to be shiningining on the model. I then re-added my model back onto the background and began to adjust the photo by testing different effects and I found that just adding highlights of colour made the models hair seem golden and bright which I believe is a great effect.

Eyes of Fire. The idea behind this photo was to have the model staring directly into the camera lens with the focus on her eyes. When I had taken the photo, I loaded it in Photoshop and adjusted the photo to Black and White and zoomed in on the models eyes. I then highlighted around the pupils of her eyes to give them a glowing effect to create a fire light/shadow in the bottom of her eyes. For this photo, I used a lower exposure than usual however I brightened the photo in Photoshop and a shutter speed of 1/100 to capture the models emotions as fast as possible.

Pretty in Pink. There are 2 meanings to this photo. One was that the model looks pretty in her dress, accessories and make-up. The second, is the connotations of the colour pink; feminine, loving, pretty and tender. My model does look tender in this photo which you can see from her pose. When I captured this photo, I loaded it up in Photoshop and edited the colour balance to make the photo seem more pink to highlight the sweetness of my model.I used a shutter speed of 2/100 to capture the photo a few times in case of any sudden movement from my model.

Demons of the Forest.

From all of my fashion photos, I feel this is the one with more of a narrative to tell. I tried to edit the photo in Photoshop so that it would seem as if my model is in a dark place but she should be in a bright environment as she is surrounded by bright and beautiful nature accessories. When I had loaded my photo in Photoshop, I firstly had to make the whole photo Black and White and then had to use the history brush tool to re-colour the leaves and flowers surrounding my model. This then left me to brighten the photo when I had finished re applying colour to the image. I did this just so the rare patches of pink in the flowers stood out.

I used an ISO of 1/100 in case of any sudden movement. I am glad that I did, as it had created the perfect imagine with no aspects of blur or none focused areas.

Deep in the Woods.

Before editing this photo, I decided I was going to take side portrait photos of people and photos of trees from the woods and blend them together. When I had both photos in Photoshop, I had to firstly make both photos Black and White, then I had too cut out the models head and paste it onto the photo of the tree to create a new layer. I then selected the portrait photo layer only and reduced the opacity so that the photos blended well together. This then left me to select the model and move her around the background layer to see where the portrait photo fitted best.I used manual settings to capture both photos with an average exposure to fit well with the indoor and outdoor natural lighting. I used 1/100 ISO to capture many images one after another incase of any sudden movement.

Green with Envy.

Like my previous edit, when I had both photos in Photoshop, I had to firstly cut out the models head and paste it onto the photo of the tree to create a new layer. I then selected the portrait photo layer only and reduced the opacity so that the photos blended well together. This then left me to select the model and move her around the background layer to see where the portrait photo fitted best. I then adjusted the colour balance on both photos so a green/teal effect was the main focus of the whole image.

When taking the photo of the tree, it was originally over exposed due to the direct sunlight, however it created a great effect so I decided to adjust the brightness in Photoshop and it worked really well with the portrait shot.

Again, I used an ISO of 1/100 in case of any sudden movement.

Poison Ivy.

- Again, I used an ISO of 1/100 in case of any sudden movement.

I chose to name this photo 'Poison Ivy' as when I had both photos open in the same photo to firstly make the background photo Black and White, use the history brush tool to re-colour the Ivy leaves. Which left me to cut out the models head and paste it onto the background photo to create a new layer. I then selected the portrait photo layer only, colour balanced it to make my models hair a colour that would blend well with the Ivy. I then reduced the opacity so that the photos fitted well together. This then left me to select the model and move her around the background layer to see where the portrait photo fitted best.So I thought that as the branches and sky are still in Black and White, but the Ivy stands out, it's as if it has poisoned my model and made her turn that colour too.

Hidden Thoughts.

- Again, I used an ISO of 1/100 in case of any sudden movement.

When I had both photos loaded in Photoshop, I had to firstly cut out the models head and paste it onto the photo of the tree to create a new layer. I then selected the portrait photo layer only and reduced the opacity so that the photos blended well together. This then left me to select the model and move him around the background layer to see where the portrait photo fitted best. I decided to call this photo 'Hidden Thoughts' because the models head is placed away from the leaves and just high in the branches as if he is trying to isolate his thoughts.
