Photos that changed the world
Jonathan Klein
In my industry we believe
that images can change the
world
Images themselves don’t change the world
but can change the way to see it
Innocent victims of the war
A different perspective for humanity
No one is really in safety
Don’t exist right wars
There are no restrictions on love
The photos bring back memories
against historical revisionism
Photos provoke reactions to accidents
even if they happen away from us
New Orleans flood
Fukushima fallout
Abruzzo earthquake
Many organisations use photos
for social campaigns
In a world where images
flow quickly
The challenge is to capture
people’s interest
To force them looking
To fight indifference
To put yourself in somebody
elses’ shoes
To push somebody into doing
a nice gesture
To have strong feelings
To be forced to look
When talking is impossible
If these images have upset you
It means that they have hit the mark
But we must be careful to not degenerate
into voyeurism and morbid curiosity
This overexposure to horrors
saturate emotions and suppress them
Instead emotions are the most pleasing
things of the life
And photos can make them eternals
