    Building With Layers

Layers make it possible for you to create animage one element at a time; then put all theelements together. You can create manydifferent layers for a single image, and you canchange each layer independently withoutaffecting the others. Layers are transparent, but when they are combined, their variouscomponents merge to create an image. Allimages are built upon a background layer. Thislayer is the foundation of an image and cannotbe deleted.

    Layers contain many components

that combine to create a finished image.

Layer A layer is a single piece of animage that helps create the

total image. Think of layerslike puzzles; they areindividual pieces that whenput together make the wholepicture.
