Try this experiment at home!

Easy Blow Balloons

Need:

Balloon

Empty soft drink bottle

About 3 tbsp. of water

1 tsp. of baking soda

Some lemon juice

Steps:

✓ Pour the water and baking soda into bottle

✓ Mix the solution with the straw until the baking soda is completely dissolved

✓ After, carefully but quickly, add the lemon juice, and then bottle mouth with the

balloon.

Why does this happen??

The baking soda, which is a base, reacts with the acid in lemon juice to produce

carbon dioxide, which fills the balloon!
