The importance of engaging young children and adolescents to a strength endurance program, or any physical activity, is correlated to improving various aspects of life and preventing health related disease.
The current epidemic disease in the 21st century is obesity. 1 out of 3 children in the nation will become diabetic before the age of 14 and are more likely to be obese as an adult. Physical activity will help promote and develop exercise during adolescents into adulthood.
Applying the F.I.T.T Principle
Frequency-48 to 72 hours of rest should be allowed between strength training workouts for a particular body area to allow the muscle to rebuild.
Intensity- Endurance training requires submaximal weight
Time- 1 minute to perform as many repetitions with proper form
Type- Dynamic using eccentric and concentric methods
