THE PACIFIC COAST-The westernmost region of the United States

- Includes Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles

INTERMOUNTAIN REGION

- Rugged terrain limits where people can live

-Includes Salt Lake City, mountain peaks, deserts, and the Grand Canyon
