Board’s Responsibilities...
Determining the minimum qualifications necessary to obtain a license;
Regulating the standards of conduct and scope of practice for the profession;
Adopting and administering examinations;
Adopting and monitoring continuing education requirements;
Reviewing complaints against licensees/registrants and taking appropriate disciplinary action against those who have violated the laws.

Mission Statement: The Idaho Physical Therapy Association (IPTA) is the principle membership organization representing and promoting the profession of physical therapy in Idaho. Our mission is to further the profession’s role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of movement dysfunctions and the enhancement of the physical health and functional abilities of members of the public through education, research, and evidence‐based practice.
{The IPTA is a chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) with over 550 members representing over 1200 physical therapists and physical therapy assistants in the state.}

• Maintain professional & occupational records
• Act as initial point of contact for applicants
• Receive inquiries; provide licensure information & appropriate forms
• Receive applications; process documentation of education, experience & examination
• Issue license to practice; process renewals
• Provide information as requested to licensees

Application Process
1. Apply for your license with jurisdiction where you plan to work ~
◼ Jurisdiction sets requirements for licensure
◼ Jurisdiction approves candidate to sit for exam
2. Complete your registration to sit for the NPTE
◼ Your school will provide the website, and your login and password
◼ Jurisdiction completes final approval of candidate in FSBPT
3. Obtain a ProMetric test center appointment
◼ Once you receive your Authorization to Test (ATT) letter from FSBPT, contact Prometric ASAP to schedule your appointment
