ThroughtheirVOaccount,PhysicianAssistants(PA)cannowremoveoraddphysicianswhosupervisethem.ThiswillnotallowaPAtoaddorendaPRESCRIBINGrelationship.ThatwillstillrequiresubmissionofapaperformtotheBoardofMedicine.

Requirements: 1. Toremoveasupervisingrelationship,the‘enddate’cannotbegreaterthantoday’sdate.In

otherwords,iftodayisJanuary25,2018,aPAcannotputanenddateofFebruary1,2018.Thesystemwilldisplaythemessage‘EndDatecannotbeaftertoday’inredatthetopofthescreen.

2. Toaddasupervisingrelationshiponline,therelationshipmusthavestartedwithinthelast30days.

a. Uponsubmissionoftheformonline,thesystemwillputthesubmissiondateasthestartdateoftherelationship.

b. IfthePA’sactualstartdatewasmorethan30daysinthepast,theywillbeinviolationofsections458.347(7)(e)or459.022(7)(d),FloridaStatute.

c. Thesystemdoesnotallowapastorfuturestartdatetobeenteredonline.3. Inaddition,whenaddingaPhysician,thePAmustknoweitherthelicensenumberoratleast

oneletteroftheirfirstandlastnameofthephysiciantosearch.

Access the Physician Assistant Supervision form in VO 1. From‘MyDashboard’under‘ManageMyLicense’,select‘Add/DeleteSupervisingMD’.ThePA

willbeabletomanagerelationshipsforbothMDsandDOs.

2. OntheIntroductionscreen,thePAisprovidedwiththelinktotheprescribingrelationshipformincasethatiswhattheyaretryingtodo.

3. OntheFunctionSuitabilityscreen,thePAisaskediftherelationshiptheywanttoaddismorethan30daysinthepast.

a. Iftheyanswer‘Yes’theyareprovidedwithadditionalinstructionsandcannotproceedwiththeapplication.

4. UpdatePracticeLocations–onthisscreenthePAcanupdatetheirmailingandpracticelocations.

Search for a relationship IfthePAhasmorethan50supervisingphysiciansrelatedtothem,thebuttonsatthebottomofthescreenwillallowtheusertoscrolltothenextorprevious50records.

Thisscreenallowstheusertosearchforaphysicianbyfirstname,lastname,licensenumberorrelationshiptype.Intheexamplebelow,theuserentered‘David’intheFirstNamefieldandthenclicked‘ApplyFilter’.Thescreenreturnedtheonlyrecordwith‘David’inthefirstnamefield.

Toclearthesearch,clickonthe‘ClearFilter’button.

End a supervising relationship Toendarelationship,clickon‘Delete’totherightofthelicenseinformation.Apop-upwindowwillcomeupwherethePAcanenterinadate.

Ifthedateisinthefuture,themessage‘Enddatecannotbeaftertoday’inredatthetopofthescreen.

Oncethedateisaccepted,thepop-updisappearsandthemessage‘Recordsuccessfullydeleted’appearsinyellowatthetopofthescreen.Inaddition,thelicenserecordnolongerdisplaysinthelist.

Add a supervising relationship Addasupervisingphysicianrelationship,clickthe‘AddRelatedLicense’buttonlocatedatthebottomofthescreen.

Next,selectthetypeofrelationshipfromthedropdown.ThePAthencanaddaphysicianbythelicensenumberorbyname.

Toaddbylicensenumber,enterinthelicensenumberandthenclick‘Add’.ThePAmustenteravalidlicensenumberwithnoprefixordashes.Oncetherelationshipisadded,themessage‘Relationsuccessfullyadded’appearsatthetopofthescreeninyellow.

Click‘Back’toreturntotherelatedlicenselist.

Theaddedphysicianwilldisplayinthelist.The‘EstablishedDate’willbefilledinoncetheapplicationissubmitted.

Toaddaphysicianbynamebyname,click‘Add’toreturntothe‘RelatedLicenseManagementAddscreen.Enterinasmuchoftheasyouknowandclick‘Search’.Thesystemwillreturnpossiblematches.

Inthisexample,onlyonerecordwasreturned.Toaddthisrecord,clickthe‘Add’linktotherightoftherecord.Oncetherelationshipisadded,themessage‘Relationsuccessfullyadded’appearsatthetopofthescreeninyellow.

Click‘Back’toreturntotherelatedlicenselist.
