Conveyor systems for small-sizedgoods have to be well designed, as the rollers have a particularly small diameter and are closely spaced. Solutions such as these call for a sturdyand reliable drive that works quietlyand requires little maintenance.

Interroll RollerKit Light meets all theserequirements, while dispensing withthe need for time-consuming planningand input. All aspects, from designthrough installation to energy-efficientoperation, have already been incorpo-rated into a deceptively simple and reliable solution. Based on tried andtested components like the 24-volt

RollerDrive EC310 and the 1700 seriesuniversal conveyor roller, we have developed a kit that allows the designengineer to create a driven conveyingsystem with 30 mm diameter rollers in virtually no time at all.

With RollerKit Light you get all the com -ponents you need, perfectly matchedto one another. Featuring a number of pre-assembledparts, RollerKit Light can be quickly installed and easily integrated into thecustomers existing system, regardless

of whether straight sections or curvesare involved.

With the help of RollerKit Light, itemsweighing up to 35 kg/m can be con-veyed reliably and efficiently at up to0.8 m/s. Designed to an equally highstandard, RollerKit Light Curve isan ideal addition to tote or containerconveying systems.

Using the Interroll control modules DriveControl, ZoneControl or Conveyor Control, various conveyingmodes whether continuous duty or zero-pressure accumulation can be implemented.

The principle

Largely pre-mounted components dispense with the need for an elaborate design and allow fast installation. All critical functional dimensions have already been taken into account. Simply installRollerKit Light into the conveyor system frame or machine structure and it is ready to go.

Seven standard lengths allow optimal integration.The track width can be user-defined and tracks canalso be combined with one another. If a belt needs tobe changed, this can usually be done in less thanfive minutes.

The options are galvanised steel, stainless steel orPVC rollers with a diameter of 30 mm. All metal com-ponents of the kit are made from galvanised steel.

How it works

The drive system for RollerKit Light is based on anunderslung RollerDrive EC 310 and tangential 4-ribPolyVee belt.

The carrier rollers rest on the belt only under theirown weight, which reduces energy consumption to a minimum. However, if a load is exerted on the roller, pressure increases and the roller is then reliably driven by the belt.

The principle

The curve remains the most streamlined and efficientmethod of changing direction. And to give you asmuch flexibility as possible with these changes of direction, we offer RollerKit Light in four radii: 30, 45,60 and 90 degrees. Until now the various peripheralspeeds of the powered round belt generally resultedin a high level of wear. This is why we have devel-oped a separate belt guide with a rolling friction thatcauses virtually no wear.

In addition, the belt no longer twists and if it doesneed to be changed at some point, this is a simpleprocedure with no welding or re-threading involved.

To offset different conveying speeds, the powertransmission to the tapered rollers is via a frictionsleeve, which protects the belt, relieves the stress on it and prevents clogging.

How it works

The key design feature is the protection of the belt.Belt routing and friction sleeve substantially enhanceits service life. As with the straight sections, the rollersfor curved sections are also supported freely on thebelt. When the item arrives the rollers dip slightly andtherefore increase the contact pressure.

Variants

Four different curve angles are available. The internalradius is 350 mm.
