• The theme of igniting one’s passion for Villanova will be reflected in these chapters.

• Our pictorial essay will be in the perspective of a Villanova Basketball team player.

• Our five chapters will include the history of the team, to entering the court for a home game, seeing the crowd from the bench, Jay Wright during the game, Jay Wright halftime pep talk, and finally winning a game.

The History

Found on Villanova’s website.

Cut and Colored to highlight the player.

This is the original image with some tweeks. I erased the arm and reestablished the number one. I used a variety of tools such as the pattern stamp tool and the burnt tool for the clouds.

Inspiration for the color palette.

The Fans

This picture was changed by adjusting the colors of most of the picture to be black and white, while the main focus (blue and white) stand out!

Also, a few faces in the crowd were blurred to focus mainly on the Villanova fans who were painted blue and white.

The Fans

The Pressure

I cut the crowd of Villanovans and pasted them into the crowd in the image on the left. I then cut the cheerleaders on the floor and re-pasted them so the fans blended in with the crowd.

I used Jay Wright and flipped him so it looked like he was pressuring the free-throw player

I cut out the jersey and replaced it on the photo so it could be any Villanova player.

The Crowd

Page 10: Pictorial Essay by Laura Broccolo, Kara Driscoll, David Koczifka

This photo was created by clearing out all the color except the one Villanova flag. Even though many of the fans are doing different things, by making them all back

and white, they become one distracting force against the opponent!

The Crowd

The Pep Talk

The Pep Talk

First, I made the locker image the background. Then I used the clone stamp to rid the Gonzaga design on the floor of the locker room. Then I used the lasso tool to cut out the players and Jay Wright from different images to insert them into the locker room image. I adjusted the size of the players and Jay Wright so that they would fit accordingly and make the final image look as if it was a photograph.

The Win

The Win

First, I made the Crowd Image the Background. Then I inserted the Bracket Manager Image on top of the crowd image. Then I used the clone stamp to rid the previous listed champion used a text box to insert Villanova as the champion. I also used the clone stamp to rid the previous title of National Champion and inserted a larger text box to make it more clear. Finally, I made the crowd image transparent enough so that you could see clearly the bracket manager layer.
