JAN 28: SAN ANTONIO / MEXICO CITY / PUEBLA Depart San Antonio to Mexico City. Your group leaders will assist in the airline check-in process. After clearing customs, we will be met by our local guide and escorted to an awaiting motor coach. We will enjoy our ride through the pine covered mountains arriving in picturesque Puebla, nestled in the middle of Mexico. We will stop at the Church of San Francisco and view the incorrupt body of Blessed Sebastian of Aparicio. Afterwards, we will check into our hotel, located in the historic center of Puebla. Dinner and overnight in Puebla.

JAN 29: TLAXCALA This morning we drive to Tlaxcala where we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Ocotlan, “The Lourdes of Mexico.” Our Blessed Mother appeared here in 1541. A beautiful wooden statue of Our Lady was found concealed within a pine tree. This statue still stands as the centerpiece of the Basilica. After lunch (included) we proceed to the Church of San Miguel del Milagro where St. Michael the Archangel appeared in 1631. See the fountain containing healing water. Dinner and overnight in Puebla.

JAN 30: PUEBLA / MEXICO CITY Before departing Puebla, we will visit the Puebla Cathedral, a treasure of colonial art and just a block from our hotel. From there we proceed to the Santo Domingo Church and its magnificent Rosary Chapel. It is one of Mexico’s most famous chapels, often referred to as “the golden house” due to its lavish use of gold leaf. On to Mexico City! There we check into our hotel which is located directly on the Zocalo. We will embark on a short walk to San Felipe de Jesus Church, containing the remains of the Venerable Felix de Jesus Rougier, founder of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit. Dinner and overnight in Mexico City.

JAN 31: BASILICA OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE Today we spend the entire day on the sacred grounds of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We will visit both the Old and the New Basilicas, the Chapel of the Well, the bell tower, the Capuchin Convent, and walk to the top of Tepeyac Hill where Our Lady appeared to Juan Diego in 1531. We will spend time before Her miraculous image on the tilma. There will be Mass, Rosary, and Reconciliation, as well as private time for reflection. Dinner and overnight in Mexico City.

FEB 1: MEXICO CITY We begin today by visiting the Church of Sagrada Familia, which contains the remains of Blessed Miguel Pro, martyred in the Cristero War. We will visit the adjoining Museum to learn more about this war in which the Catholic Church was severely persecuted and many faithful Mexicans were martyred for Our Lord. After lunch we visit the Metropolitan Cathedral. It is the largest cathedral in the Americas and was built atop a former Aztec sacred site. We will visit that site when we see the ruins of Templo Mayor, Aztec ruins recently discovered in the heart of Mexico City. Begun in the 14th century, Templo Mayor was the center of religious life for the city of 300,000 people. From there we visit the Ensenanza Church, considered the pinnacle of the Baroque period in Mexico. Dinner and overnight in Mexico City.

FEB 2: MEXICO CITY / SAN ANTONIO On our last day in Mexico we will return to the grounds of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe for Mass and prayers. You will be able to spend your last hours in Mexico in private contemplation before Our Lady’s image. On our way to the airport we will stop for a special lunch (included) at a former hacienda. We arrive at the airport for our flight back to San Antonio. (Itinerary Subject to change)

We will make our best reasonable efforts to keep the price as quoted. However, the airfare is not under our control and it may vary. Due to fluctuations in airfare, minor adjustments might have to be made to the original quoted price. The airfare will be fixed once the deposit is made, and the airfare is paid.
