My Magazine

■ My magazine will be called Passion.■ The genre of my magazine will be dance.■ The price of my magazine will be £1.50.■ The colours that will be used are pastel colours

such as blue or green.

My target audience ■ My target audience are aged 14 and over. ■ This magazine is aimed at both male and female. ■ Living in the UK.■ The magazine is aimed mainly at dancers but it can

be for non-dancers who want to learn.

My cover story ■ My cover story will be a discursive feature, I will be

quoting opinions from dancers in the college and other students who have been to the performances or if they have seen dancing in videos.

■ The article will be aimed to inform the audience on the origin of dance, famous choreographers, the techniques used in different styles of dance and the vocabulary used for dance.

■ The three dance styles I will be writing about are tap dance, contemporary and street dance.

Brief history

Started in the 1970’s and was created by don Campbell and started in new York.

Began in the mid 1800’s created by William henry lane originally known as juba dance it used a mix of reel steps, clog and African rhythms.

Began in the 20th century by Isadora Duncan. Merce Cunningham developed his own style from ballet using modern dance to create a new style.
