A  women's  Lifestyle  magazine    TREND

Page 2: Pitch presentation

Introduction Hello my name is Danielle Knight and today I am here to convince you that the

ideas I have for a new Women’s Lifestyle magazine fit your brief and also present the best solution for your organisations needs.

What I will be discussing:  •  Client  needs  •  Targeted  Audience  •  Problems  I  have  tackled    •  Genre    •  Commercial  viability    •  My  Product    •  I  will  then  come  to  a  conclusion

Brief    The brief is to produce a magazine that will be effective to a targeted audience and benefit them.

I  then  decided  that  I  would  produce  a  women's  lifestyle  magazine.

How  my  magazine  meets  the  brief

It  has  a  Unique  Selling

Point

It  has  formal  stories

presented  in  a  informal  way

It  is  making  profit  for  the  Northern  Echo

It  is  effective  to  the  target

audience

Client Research I  have  been  commissioned    by  the  Northern  Echo  to  produce  a  magazine.    The  genre  of  my  magazine  is  Woman's  lifestyle  and  it  must  be  financed  by  advertising.  The  audience  that  I  am  aiming  for  is  16-‐24.

How  will  my  magazine  be  distributed?

A  problem  I  came  across  is…

I  will  sell  my  magazine

I  will  gain  profit

This  will  benefit  my  target  audience

Audience    Having a young target audience means that my double page spread stories have to suit them. Is politics for you?

Metro-Sexual Man? Stay Fit, Have Fun?

Socio-‐Economic  Group?     A,  B,  C1

Aimed  at  woman/Girls  16-‐24

I  like  the  colour  scheme  on  this  magazine,  it  is  also  noticeable  that  it

appeals  to  girls.

The  layout  is  also  appealing

Genre  Research

This  includes  the  sort  of  stories  that  women  will  be

interested  in.

Client Constraints How having the northern Echo as a client has affected me?

The  newspaper  is  seen  as

more  formal

Older  target  audience

High  Socio-‐Economic

class

   No  taboo  language

Allows  them  to  form  a  strong  relationship  with  their  readers  .  They  may  have  more  of  an  understanding  attitude  about  the  North  East.  More  formal  stories  about  the  North  East  and  recent  stories  that  are  occurring.

Here  are  my  two  mock  up  double  page  spreads.    In  my  focus  group  I  received  constructive  feedback  on  each  of  these  double  page  spreads.

1.  Edit  the  box  behind  the  title    Add  more  colour

2.  Only  have  one  break  out  box  Add  more  colour  Edit  the  title  Edit  the  box

Mock  Up  To  create  my  mock  up  I  put  together  all  of  my  research  so  that  I  could  see  what

my  targeted  audience  liked  best.

After  receiving  my  feedback  from  my  targeted  audience  I  can  now  edit  my  double  page  spreads  to

make  them  more  appealing.

Here  I  have  done  some  research  on  the  hours  that  will  need  per  each  person.    I  have  then  also  worked  out  how

much  the  cost  will  be  and  then  the  overall  cost.

Page 14: Pitch presentation

Here  is  now  the  hours  and  cost  for  my  equipment  that  I  will  need.

Page 15: Pitch presentation

I  then  worked  out  how  much  my  magazine  will  cost  to  make  with  all  of  the  pages  that  I  am  including.

Page 16: Pitch presentation

My  income  will  come  from  advertising  throughout  the  magazine.

CONCLUSION

I  want  to  achieve  a  new  women's  lifestyle  magazine  that  takes  into  consideration  the  Northern  Echo  as  the  secondary  audience  and  my  Unique  Selling  Point  is  the  mixture  of  stories  that  do  not

include  celebrity  gossip.
