Each unit begins with a
Big Question that provides
a thematic starting point for
building understanding.
The Big Question serves as a
framework for language and
vocabulary acquisition as well as
concept development. As students
discuss the Big Question
throughout the unit, they
demonstrate their understanding
of the content and develop
transferable academic skills.
It all starts with a question…
Six thematic units per level organizedaround a Big Question provide a startingpoint for building understanding of keyconcepts and academic vocabulary.
