Aerobics & Zumba

Aerobics is a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching and strength training routines with the goal of improving all elements of fitness. Students perform aerobics to music in a group setting led by an instructor in the fully equipped Aerobics hall at Suryadatta. It can be done solo and without musical accompaniment also.

Expert faculty in Zumba train students in fitness through Zumba dance. Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo. Complete audio facility is maintained in this hall where regular Zumba classes are taken by experts every week.

Education Foundation, is a senior management professional, a passionate

educationist and a philanthropist. Along with a degree in Mechanical

Engineering from the Government College of Engineering Pune, (COEP) Dr.

Chordiya also completed his Masters in Marketing Management, Materials

Management, Industrial Management, Operations Management, Human

Resources Management and a Doctorate in Environmental Science.

Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya has served the industry in various capacities. He

was the Chairman of the SME Chamber of Commerce, Pune Chapter and as a

member of Telephone Advisory Committee, Pune and also of the prestigious

committee formed by the Ministry of Steel & Industries, GOI for raw material

planning in the Automobile industry. He is also a promoter member of EPSI,

Delhi.

Chartered Engineer and Educationist .He has visited many globally renowned

Dr. Shailesh Kasande is the CEO and Group Director, Suryadatta Group of Institutes.

He is a Professor in Marketing Management, Research Methodology, Operations &

Supply Chain, Business Analytics & Corporate Strategy. Dr. Shailesh is a PhD guide

with over two decades of experience in academics and has contributed to all

aspects of the academic ecosystem as a teacher, evaluator, researcher, trainer,

academic administrator and institution builder.

He is a member of the Academic Council of SPPU, Chairman Board of Studies of

Operations Management at SPPU, member Research Advisory Committee at

Symbiosis International University & SCHMRD, Member BOS at DYPU, IndSearch,

and several other Institutes of Higher Learning.

He has conceptualized the Programme curriculum of MBA and other programmes

as per the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) at the University of Pune in AY 2012 / 2013 and later in 2019. He was the

Co-convener of the CII Pune Zonal Council Industry Institute Interface (I3) Panel Member of the CII Industry Institute

Interface (I3) Panel at the Western Region Council, Member of the CII Pune HR – IR Panel, Member of Organizing

Mrs. Sushama Chordiya, Vice President & Secretary of the Suryadatta Education Foundation, has a vision of building a world class centre of excellence of learning at Surydatta.

An Arts Graduate with Computers Diploma, she heads the administration & finance departments, heads the cultural activities cell and is the chief mentor at Suryadatta. She works closely with the head of departments in guiding the students. Her passion and dedication makes her the most popular mentor amongst the students, especially the outstation students.

She is a member of various social as well as charitable organisations including YWCA Activity centre, International Centre Goa etc. She has organised various edu-socio events and activities at Suryadatta such as Computer literacy programs, Cleanliness rallies, Polio eradication camps, aids awareness rally, health camps, English literacy programs etc.

Mr. Sachin Itkar is Advisory Board member of Suryadatta and Senior Program Advisor with the Strategic Foresight Group. He also works closely with the Alliance for US-India Business (AUSIB) and is the founder of ‘Arise and Awake Foundation’, which seeks to improve the quality of education in rural Maharashtra. Apart from this, Sachin is a guest faculty for pharmacy and healthcare management programs in a number of universities in India and abroad

Sachin comes to SFG with twelve years of industry experience, during which time he secured five patents in the area of pharmaceutical technology under his name. He is a pharmacist by training and has a post graduate degree in management studies.

Sachin has spoken at various forums (national and international) on topics including the World Trade Organization (WTO), intellectual property rights, drug regulations, clinical trials management and issues and concerns of the pharmaceutical industry. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards and has published several articles.

Dr. Datta Kohinkar is advisory board member of Suryadatta and Chairman of Vipassana

Centre - Pune. His journey with Yoga started when he joined yoga classes under the

guidance of Dr. Kshitija in 2000. For two decades Datta Kohinkar Patil has selflessly

contributed immensely to the physical and mental health of people and changed their lives

forever all over through his Camps, free lectures, his writing and articles that have appeared

in leading newspapers of Maharashtra.

Many local governing bodies in cities such as Pune Municipal Corporation have extended

great co–operation and encouraged their employees to attend Vipassana courses.

Personnel from IAS, Police Departments, Electricity Boards and Defense forces have

benefitted from these courses. Private industrial organizations such as Mahendra, Thermax

etc. regularly send their employees for Vipassana courses.

Prof. Sunil Dhadiwal is a Gold Medalist Engineer and MBA in Marketing from a reputed B-

School in Pune. He has a rich experience of over 25 years in Chemical and Automotive industry

He was Sr. General Manager at Force Motors Limited, where he has worked as Head of

Department for SUVs, Commercial vehicles & Agricultural Tractors in Sales & Marketing

ExposureThis activity is undertaken by students who select a topic

of their choice in consultation with the Faculty Guides.

They undertake literature reviews, prepare and pre-test

questionnaires and interview schedules, carry out

fieldwork, analyze reports and make presentations to the

When I reflect upon my days at Suryadatta, an ocean of emotions flow. In Suryadatta, I studied Management with a batch of more than 260 students. In 2009 – 2011 batch full of activities such as morning Yoga, Meditation, jogging in campus, Morning till evening - preparatory classes and regular classes used to happen. In the evening hobby classes like GYM , Dances, Music etc., I got opportunity to pursue my hobbies. At night, we used to summarize what we did through reflection work at home cum hostel.

providing practical exposure on industrial know-how, interaction with corporate leaders to learn about

The tour also includes an adventure camp as an integral part. The highlight of the camp is the relaxation afforded to

initiatives, strengthening the Institute - Industry Interface. One such career

Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) chamber's Pune

reappointed as the Chairman of Small & Medium

Business development chamber of India (SME Chamber

of India) for Pune Region (Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur

As a part of Suryadatta Knowledge Management Initiative, Suryadatta collaborates with various Industrial and non-

Business Leadership Quiz:

Suryadatta students participated in a National Business Leadership Quiz Competition organized by National

Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN), Pune Chapter jointly with Suryadatta Group of Institutes. The

basic objective of organizing the Business Leadership Quiz on one hand is to create a culture of competitiveness

among the corporate enterprises, and on the other hand is of recognizing excellence. Quizzing is now being used

globally as one of the important tools of learning and development.

Participants from eminent companies like HPCL, SKF, BOSCH, Garewell, IBS, & many more, participated in this event.

It was a platform for analytical, creative & problem solving minds to showcase their skills and abilities.

National HR Summit :

For last seven years, Suryadatta has been organizing Regional / National HR summits in association with the All

India Management Association. Senior HR Management from reputed companies such as L&T, Hindalco, TCS, Tata

Motors, Mother Dairy, IFCI, GAIL and many more have attended these. Suryadatta students, along with faculty

members attend HR summits and learn from the industry stalwarts. Topics such as “Trends in HR”, “Compensation

and Rewards” etc. have been the themes for the HR Summits.

NIPM - STUDENTS’ CHAPTER AT SURYADATTA (Estd. 2018-19)

National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) Student chapter is set up at Suryadatta group of institutes on Tuesday, 29th January 2019 to offer strong industry connect. NIPM is the professional association for HR Professionals and offer expertise in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Labor Welfare, and Training & Development in the country. This chapter will open up numerous early professional grooming opportunities for students through participating in regional & national level seminars, workshops, conferences on contemporary themes organized by NIPM.

Mrs Hemangi Dhokte (Lead HR, Actuation Technologies, Emerson AUTOSOL) is the mentor for Suryadatta students under this. The NIPM student chapter also looks forward to organizing activities like Guest Lectures, Corporate Interview, CSR Project, Study Tour, HR Round Table. Our students recently participated in the one of it's kind Student’s National Conference STUNA2K19 and were enlightened by the eminent speakers from varied industry sectors.

Suryadatta is constantly striving for academic excellence through such industry-centric endeavours.

Rotary Club Pune has joined hands with Suryadatta and set up Rotaract Club especially for the Suryadatta student community. Rotaract clubs are a part of Rotary Club global family which brings together students to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. Students and faculty members witnessed the inauguration of the Suryadatta Rotaract Club on 14th May 2019. Student President, Vice President, Treasurer & Secretary of the club were felicitated by Dr Deepak Toshniwal & Dr Sanjay Chordiya.

Incubation CentreSuryadatta runs an incubation center for budding

entrepreneurs, its students as well as other individuals of

the society. Industrial bodies such as SME Chamber of

Commerce, SIDCOM etc promote entrepreneurship.

Suryadatta has a strong association with these bodies

who encourage, guide and promote entrepreneurship.

The state-of-art infrastructure at Suryadatta is put to use

for the incubation center. Candidates can access the rich

library for doing their desk research. Experienced faculty

and industry members of respective sectors guide the

budding entrepreneurs. The discussion cabins,

conference rooms, computers and other resources are

used for these activities.

Live projects are taken to the startup level in the

incubation center, after which the entrepreneurs are on

their own to make their ventures grow. Support is also

available from venture capitalists for new ventures.

Innovation Suryadatta believes in constant Innovation & Research.

Innovation holds the key to ongoing improvements in

living standards, as well as to solving pressing social

challenges. Skilled people play a crucial role in

innovation through the new knowledge they generate,

how they adopt and develop existing ideas, and through

their ability to learn new competencies and adapt to a

changing environment.

ResearchThe term Research describes a range of systematic

efforts to increase the total amount of knowledge in an

area. Depending on the objective of the research, a

distinction is made between fundamental research,

applied research & experimental development.

Suryadatta encourages students to undertake Research

through various projects and assignments. Suryadatta

also encourages its faculty members to do research

mainly the applied research and fundamental research.

Many of the faculty members are pursuing PhD and

conducting fundamental research in their respective

specialisations.
