Our stringent quality controls, combined with our warranty periods of 5 years on Test and Measurement equipment, and 3 to 5 years on RF and Automotive equipment, ensure that they receive the highest quality products with the very best level of service. 2017 saw the launch of our Asia-Pacific office in Shanghai as well as our German office in Hanover as we continue to expand globally.

Industrial placements

Software:

Technical Support – Our technical support department are constantly talking with our customers about their Pico Technology systems and requirements. You will be working with customers to solve complex issues across a wide range of technologies and languages including C#, Python, Matlab, and C++. This will also provide a great introduction to the full range of Pico Technology products.

Software Testing – All Pico Technology software goes through rigorous testing. This is done by within the development teams as part of ongoing testing as well as our software release team. You will have the opportunity to test, bug report and learn testing methodologies as part of your placement year.

Software Development – Industrial placement students are included within a working agile scrum team working on live projects. Using C# development skills you will take part in sprint retrospective and reviews as well as seeing the work you produce being used in industry.

Hardware: Within our hardware department you will gain an understanding of the Pico new product development lifecycle from initial concept through to final customer release. You will have exposure to analogue/digital electronic design, mechanical design, test engineering, production engineering through to project management. You will also have exposure to advanced CAD simulation and design tools.

Software:We are looking for Graduate Software Engineers who possess the skills to create the next generation of high performance test and measurement, and automotive diagnostic software. The Software Engineers are responsible for creating innovative and intuitive front end software using C#.Net, solving problems such as visualising large data sets at high speed and pushing the boundaries of commercially available PC hardware. In addition the Software Engineers will be applying their skills to simplify real world problems such as shaft balancing or debugging serial buses.

Working in an agile environment means that all our software engineers have a collaborative attitude to working and are constantly looking to further their technical knowledge.

Hardware:We are looking for talented Graduate Electronics Engineers who are looking to join an exciting team developing the next generation pc based oscilloscopes. We offer a stimulating environment with the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team of talented engineers. There will be ample opportunity for the successful candidates to learn new skills in digital and analogue electronics including FPGA/VHDL, schematic capture, PCB, CAD and 3D Modelling. Enthusiasm and a positive ‘can do’ attitude are a pre-requisite.

About St. Neots

There is no shortage of things going on in St. Neots from the Italian Farmers Market to watching a match at St. Neots town FC. The annual Dragon boat race is a major event in the city, where you can even see the Pico team racing!

St. Neots train station is located on the outskirts of the town, and is on the mainline between London and Edinburgh with many connecting services at nearby Peterborough.

By road St. Neots is only 60 miles from London and is linked directly by the A1. Peterborough is only 27 miles to the north with the A428 linking to Cambridge which is just 19 miles away and joins the A14 for visitors from East Anglia. The Midlands and many other parts of the country are within a two or three hour drive.

There are daily bus services to St. Neots operated by Stagecoach, with regular services every half hour from Cambridge, Bedford, Milton Keynes and Oxford. Whether you prefer to live in a busy city, quiet town or secluded village, all are within an easy commute of our offices.

Pico Technology is based in St. Neots, a charming market town located in Cambridgeshire. It is the largest and fastest growing town in the county with a population of over 40,000. The town has a rich medieval heritage and there is plenty to offer from dining out, browsing eclectic shops and markets, enjoying outdoor pursuits and riverside activities. Other amenities include the leisure centre, public parks and cinema complex.
