EastSide Greenways, a registered charity, aims to maximise the potential of the Connswater Community Greenway as a catalyst for the ongoing physical, social and economic regeneration of east Belfast.
Building on the success of Connswater Community Greenway, one of only three projects in the UK to be awarded ‘Living Landmark’ status, EastSide Greenways intends to in�uence and explore the potential for a wider network of Greenways across east Belfast linking people and places to a city wide and regional network.
Engagement has been undertaken with a number of key stakeholders to ensure their contribution to and support for the EastSide Greenway concept plan, these include; Belfast City Council, Department for Infrastructure, The Executive Of�ce, The National Lottery Community Fund and Sustrans NI.

THE EASTSIDE GREENWAYS CONCEPT PLAN INCLUDES;
Potential greenway routes in addition to the current Comber and Connswater Community Greenways
Identi�cation of existing links that could be enhanced
Identi�cation of potential new linkages that would enhance accessibility across the network
The proximity of the network to existing community facilities and other leisure and tourist destinations
The relationship of communities to the network
The potential for network ‘hubs’ such as C.S. Lewis Square
Integration of the network with other transport infrastructure
Linkages with the city centre and Titanic Quarter and other key destinations
Integration of the network with wider city and regional cycle and pedestrian networks

EastSide Greenways was founded by EastSide Partnership as the vehicle for the delivery of the Connswater Community Greenway.
Established as a charity, EastSide Greenways recognises the potential to build on the success of the Connswater Community Greenway.
As a catalyst for ongoing regeneration it will make all of east Belfast a greener, safer and cleaner place to be, while continuing to connect people and places.
“To encourage the use and enjoyment of parks, gardens, rivers and off-road transport routes in east Belfast. To promote the sustainable planning, design, management, maintenance and improvement of green spaces for the benefit of the public”.
