This guide is to assist with your unit of study choices throughout your degree. The PDF guide shows combinations of majors and minors that are available in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. There are a number of combinations that can also be created with a Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences major along with majors available in Table S from other faculties such as Business, Science, Architecture, Health and Medicine. Please have a look at both the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences handbook and the Interdisciplinary Studies handbook for majors, minors and units of study available to you. Glossary Major A major is a 48 credit point focused subject area. Minor A minor is a 36 credit point focused subject area. Electives These are units of study that can be taken from most majors and minors, as long as you meet all the prerequisites then these units should be available via Table S elective or Table A elective boxes in your enrolment screen. Table A This is all majors, minors and units of study from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Please note there is also a Table A for the Bachelor of Science that is specified in certain course planners. Table S This is the shared pool of majors and minors available in the Interdisciplinary Handbook. OLE unit This is an Open Learning Environment unit of study. OLE is a collection of units that offers you the opportunity to extend your skills and knowledge by exploring other fields of study. Units are either two or six credit point units and can be located in Table O. Dalyell Scholars Is available as an invitation only opportunity for high achieving students. In a Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences course students, students are to complete 12cp of Dalyell stream units. Students also have access to enrichment opportunities that are available in Table D and can be completed as electives in addition to the Dalyell stream units.
