    The aim of this course is to provide students with a soundknowledge as regards to the usage and applications of powerelectronic devices in control and production work in power systemas well as in industry.

    Courseoutline:Courseoutline:

    This subject discuss about the types of solid state switching

    components, the working of various types of converter circuits andthe associated control circuits. It also touches on the principles ofAC and DC motor speed control. The use of solid state componentsin handling high voltage DC is also dealt with. Lastly theapplications of switching devices and examples in industry arebeing discussed.
