Steps of the process for obtaining Plastics.

1st sourcing of raw Materials:- Non-Renewable raw materials:

Petroleum. 95%.- Renewable raw materials like: resin,

natural rubber, casein, latex and pulp. 5%.

2nd Synthesis of monomers

The whole process is carried out in petrochemical industries.

It consists of extracting the monomers from the raw material.

Through chemical reactions.

Thermocompression

- Manufacture: Melamine- Process:

1. The materials inserted into the mould.2. The resin (thermosets) may be preheated.3. The upper part of the mould is force down on the plastic resin.4. Continued heating is required to complete the cross-linking of the thermosetting resin.5. Then the part is ejected from the mould.

Extrusion molding process

-Manufacture: pipes, laminated profiles, structural parts.- Process :

1. The pellets or resins are inserted into the hopper.2. The material fed into the heated cylinder. 3. When the material become softer, it will be forced.4. The product are formed into continuous shape.5. Then the product will be cooled (air-blast system,

water-bath system …) and it solidified.6. The product will be clean up with hot water.

Blow molding process

- Manufacture: containers for liquids, plastics grocery bags.

- Process:1. The resins or pellets are inserted into the hopper.2. The materials heat up.3. The plastics substance will be injected into the mold.

4. Then it are expanded with a massive air bubble.5. The plastic get the form of the mold.
