If you head into the Central Hall you will find Italianspider lift producer - Italmec testing the NorthAmerican market. Continue out into the South Hallwhere you will find Bil-Jax and it's new X serieslightweight self propelled articulated booms. Thenew 45XA, making its debut, offers a 45ft platformheight and yet weighs less than 4,500 lbs/2,000 kg.It joins the 36XT launched last year and shares its45 percent gradeability, rapid travel speed and fastset up time. Let the team demonstrate the 30 secondoutrigger set up time.

A late entry from Aichi also can be found in theSouth Hall on the Toyota stand, where it will haveits brand new 46ft straight telescopic boom on show.

Carry on past the Vertikal Press stand - do sayhello - and onto the Gold Lot where first stop isSnorkel/Upright. The two brands now mergedwill be flying the Snorkel flag since we arein the good old US of A. This will be thefirst chance for many to meet the seniormanagers of new owners -Tanfield and learn more aboutthe company's aggressiveexpansion and developmentplans. Finally a short step away is Manitou. While notexhibiting its booms here, it does have a wellstocked stand and its senior managers will bevery happy to talk about its access products.

There is plenty to see thisyear, although not a great deal that is reallynew. Now head towards the Blue Lot but don't use thebridge! Cross over to the South Hall, pass theVertikal booth and head for the Toyota standwhere you will find the new Aichi global scissorlifts, the first small electrics with direct AC motor

drive. Close byyou will findBil-Jax with its

could take thelow-level accessmarket by storm.

Now to the Blue Lot and in the centre you'll findCustom Equipment, the producer of low-level,light-weight self-propelled scissor lifts that areideal for work on upper levels. The company willhave its latest CE version on display along with its10 and 14ft ANSI models.

Cross the aisle to Skyjack, one of the biggeststands in this lot. The company has someinteresting plans for new scissors later in theyear, if you press them you might learn more.Continue across the aisle to MEC, which has anew compact electric 4x4 scissor lift on displayoffering fantastic off road ability and flotation withthe benefit of clean quiet performance. Last butnot least look out for Bravi, the Italian producerof electric powered mast-type self propelled liftswith fantastic gradeability.

La siguiente parada es el stand de Terex, donde Genie expondrá dosmodelos de su gama TZ con alturas de plataforma de 34 y 50 pies.Cruzando el pasillo se encuentra Haulotte que cuenta con una plataformaremolcable pequeña, pero que nomostrarán en esta feria. Hacia el ladodel área Gold es el Hall Riviera, y detrásde este edificio encontrará el grupo PM,donde Oil&Steel dentro del grupo fabricaplataformas de araña de su gamaOctopussy y deberían exponer suplataforma de 12 m.

Next stop is the Terex stand whereyou will find Genie and its two modelTZ range with 34 and 50ft platformheights. Across the aisle is Haulottewhich has a small trailer lift line, butwill not be highlighting them at thisshow. To the side of the Gold Lot isthe Riviera Hall, and in the back ofthis building you will find the PMGroup of which Oil&Steel is a member.Look for the Octopussy range of spiderlifts, it should have its 12 metremodel on show.

Finally go back into the Gold Lotand towards the rear is JLG whichwill have one of its Tow Promodels on display.

This is not the best of shows fortrailer lifts and spiders, giventheir leaning towards lightconstruction and general rental,a good number of producers arerepresented here.

If you head into the Central Hall atthe Italian pavilion you will findHeila/Italmec which produces arange of spider lifts, but only has asmall booth at this show. From hereyou can easily move outside to theBlue Lot where you will findReachMaster to the rear of Skyjack.The company represents Hinowa inNorth America and is part ofWorldlift Industries which ownsboth Denka and Falck Schmidt. Onthe stand will be at least one Hinowaspider lift, along with an FS Falcon,most likely a 28 metre model onwheels. The company has sold agood number of these to the casinosin Las Vegas, thanks to their ability topass through a standard doorwayand then reach up to over 150ft. Thecompany is also hoping to have a100ft unit that it has mounted on to amid-range commercial truck.
