Tanks should be structurally sound but do not have to be liquid tight. There is no need to sandblast the tanks or remove old liners. The 3/.'l2-in. (93 mil) (recommended if the liner will be subjected to physical abuse) and the 40-mil PVC liners have excellent resistance to plating solu- tions and superior resistance to strong oxidizing agents such as chromium acid. The 20-mil PVC liners are thin enough to allow heat transfer and tough enough to withstand chemical attack and physical shock. They are made especially for elec- troless plating.
