An ongoing process in which educators work collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve.

PLC’s operate under the assumption that the key to improved learning for students is continuous, job-embedded learning for educators.

Just as it would be considered “Medical Malpractice” for doctors not to keep up with current research-based best medical practices, it should be considered “Educational Malpractice” for educators who are not willing to instruct using research-based best instructional practices, such as developing a Professional Learning Community.
