“For Such a Time as This” (Purim)

The festival of Purim is celebrated traditionally with the reading of the scroll of Esther. While doing so we cheer the names of Esther and her uncle Mordechi; and we make a lot of noise at-tempting to drown out the name of Haman whenever it comes up in the story. Purim is a time when our sorrow is turned into joy as we celebrate that through the courage of Queen Esther the Lord over-turned the decree of evil to annihilate the Jews and allowed them to defend themselves against the enemies of G-d’s chosen people.

Unfortunately, history is repeating itself and the spirit of the wicked Haman is once again raising up its ugly head, as we are wit-nessing the rise of anti-Semitism and the proclamation of intent to wipe G-d’s people from the face of the earth. But I choose to be-lieve that Adonai will rescue His people again and bring them home to Israel. Who will stand against this evil – Benjamin Netanyahu – YOU?

Queen Esther is a wonderful example of an intercessor, lay-ing down her life for the salvation of the Jewish people. Who knows – if YOU have come into the Kingdom – “FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS?”

PRAYER THOUGHT: Lord Jesus, take my mind, my hands, my whole being. Come and dwell with me – come and dwell in me – and make me a blessing for
