About the organizer
CEOCOR is a European committee studying all problems concerning corrosion and protection of pipe, mains and other buried, immersed or aerial metallic or non-metallic constructions for transport and storage drinking water, wastewater, gas and oil.CEOCOR was founded in 1956 and is based in Brussels. CEOCOR members belong to water, gas and oil supply companies, industries, universities and research centres in more than 15 countries.
Fields of Activities
Sector A – External corrosion and cathodic protection– study of cathodic protection techniques to prevent corrosion of pipes, complex structures and
reservoirs – study of systems for remote control and monitoring of cathodic protection systems– study of corrosion by alternating and direct stray currents
Sector B – Internal corrosion and water treatment– study of interaction between transported or stored water and the internal surface of pipes
and reservoirs, particularly with respect to drinking water in contact with ferrous material (cast iron, steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel), copper, lead, cementitious material (fibre cement, reinforced or pre-stressed concrete and linings)
– study of water treatment regarding corrosion or scaling risks
Sector C – Pipe materials and coatings– preparation of recommendations for the use of ferrous, non-ferrous and organic
materials for construction– operation and rehabilitation techniques of pipe networks– study of permeation and migration of micro-pollutants on organic pipes

The Project has been awarded the first prize in the „Project of the Year 2007 Competition - Technology Projects Category“. Visit of small water power station 20 km from the Poprad town.
