Welcome

Plugged In is about a bunch of Kiwis coming to share, learn and grow together. Today you’ll meet ordinary people from ordinary places who have the same heart as you, and even face similar issues. Our prayer is that by the end of the day you’ll be refreshed, encouraged, and confident in the knowledge that by you stepping out and leading well you bless not only your local church, but also the very heart of God.

Today there’s something for everyone; all-in sessions, worship, panel discussions, and a variety of electives. This year we’ve placed particular emphasis on developing you as a team, you as an individual, and you as one who lives a life tuned to worship.

We’re thrilled you’re here. Enjoy!

11.00amBAND DYNAMICSMatt Soong The dynamics produced by a band are about different factors working well together to help worship flow. Come and gain a better under-standing of what these factors are and how to put them together in a practical way.

TEAM DYNAMICSTim CostleyWorship teams can become a sausage machine just churning out songs for Sunday. Come and take a fresh look at how we operate as a team, how we can grow togeth-er, and glean a few tips on how to keep it fun, real, and improving.

11.45amARRANGEMENTSTim Costley and Matt SoongThis interactive elective will look at how to arrange a song with the in-strumentation you have. We’ll take the time to look at how this is done with big and small group examples.

THEOLOGY & WORSHIPAndrew WarnockIn conversation with a foreign woman at a well, Jesus explained that ‘a time has now come when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father desires’. What is a true worshipper? What does ‘in spirit and in truth’ mean? Are we the kind of worshippers the Father desires? Come and explore the biblical dimensions of worship.

LUNCH OPTIONSHead to the street and find a local cafe to suit your tastes, including Joseph Street Kitchen, a mere 3 minute walk away or our cafe district found in George Street.

Want more? There’s foodhall style cuisine in The Plaza, a New World through the park across the road (veer left if you’re walking) or stay in and have a hot drink on us if you brought your own.

2.15pmPRACTICERachel DannWe all go to practices but are we getting much out of them or just going through the motions? Join Rachel for ideas on how to maximise practice times and how to make them effective and fun.

NEW SONGS & RESOURCESSam CouperTake time out to discuss what songs are all the rage, how to introduce new songs to your band and church, helpful tips for selecting songs to use and where we can find them.

CREATIVITY IN WORSHIPTim CostleyWorship should engage all our senses, even (dare we say) smell and taste! Come and look at different ways we can engage congregations in worship. Bring your ideas and experiences, and listen to those of others.

2.50pmPRACTICERepeated

NUTS & BOLTSSteve PapworthThis elective is all about the practical aspects of managing a worship ministry on a weekly basis. We’ll look into auditions, band structure, building a lead-ership team, repertoire, men-toring, and how to cope with shortages of particular skill sets. New Wine. Championing the local church to live as Jesus in our nation. As a network of churches and individuals we are kingdom people who are generous in our love for the vibrancy of the local church, expectant of the power and presence of God and biblically faithful as we together wrestle with God’s Word to us now.

Our aim is to champion the local church to grow in the Kingdom distinctives of; • being greedy for God’s presence through worship, holiness and

engagement with God;• living as Spirit empowered disciples, expectant of the supernatural

presence and power of God;• engaging in Kingdom centred mission, seeing lives and communities

transformed through the good news of the Kingdom;• being churches serving churches as we actively bless others with that

which we are blessed with.

We’re most visible as we gather together at;

NEW WINE FESTIVALSLife changing events which are fun, celebratory and for all ages, but which also pursue deeper relationship with God through passionate worship, inspirational teaching and ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit.

NEW WINE NETWORK EVENTSSupport and encouragement for like-minded leaders across NZ through New Wine Leaders’ Retreats and Leaders Days (contact us for retreat invitations).

REGIONAL EVENTS & REGULAR NEWSLETTERSNew Wine training events, worship days, prayer events and Team Together weekends, alongside regular newsletters.

FAITH SHARING VISITS BETWEEN CHURCHESCapturing the synergy that emerges as churches share, model, and serve other churches with what they have been blessed with.
