Rich tributes were paid to Netaji at a function held at the statue of Netaji at Marina Park. The Deputy Rich tributes paid to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary in Isles Car Nicobar, Jan. 23 The COVID-19 vaccination drives kick started today in Nicobar District with Health Care Workers (HCWs) receiving the COVISHIELD vaccine. The drive was launched from three sites simultaneously viz. BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar, CHC, Nancowry and PHC, Campbell Bay. Today is the day we celebrate the consciousness that tore through the darkness of slavery and challenged the mightiest power of the world with the words “I will not beg for freedom, I will take it.” The Prime Minister conveyed that the country has decided to celebrate Netaji's birth anniversary, i.e. 23 rd January every year as 'Parakram Diwas' in order to honour and remember Netaji's indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation. Shri Modi asserted that Netaji is embodiment of India's might and inspiration. The Prime Minister termed it to be his good fortune that in 2018, the Government renamed an Island of Andaman as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island. He said that Kishore Kshirsagar Lakshman, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District. A total of 228 HCWs were vaccinated on Day 1 of the drive. In Car Nicobar, the drive was led by Dr. KP Felicitus, MS-in charge, BJR Hospital and Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka paid floral tributes to Netaji followed by floral tributes by officers of A&N Administration, senior Police Officials and others. Port Blair, Jan. 23 A mass beach cleanliness drive was organized in Little Andaman on occasion of 125th Birth Anniversary of Freedom Fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose today. As part of the occasion, all the beaches of Little Andaman were cleaned which included Harminder Bay, Chattan Beach, Jetty area, Fish Landing Centre area, 6 km to 7 km beach, Kalapathar Mass beach cleaning drive organized at Little Andaman More than 7000 kgs of plastic, glass bottles & other garbage collected and sent for further processing and Butler Bay. Apart from this, shoulder area of Little Andaman Trunk Road (LATR) was also cleaned during this drive. Around 600 people including PRIs, Govt. Employees, youth and general public participated extensively in this campaign and contributed their valuable time to make this drive a grand success. This cleanliness drive was organized under the overall supervision of Shri Lakshay Singhal, IAS (P), presently holding the charge of Tehsildar, Little Andaman. More than 7 tons (7000 kgs) of plastic, glass bottles and other garbages were collected and sent for further processing. It is the first of its kind cleanliness drive conducted in Little Andaman. Illumination of ships as part of Republic Day Port Blair, Jan. 23 As part of the Republic Day celebration in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, ships of Indian Navy and Indian Cost Guard will be illuminated on Jan. 24, 26 and 29, 2021 from sunset to midnight at anchorage off the Marine Flag Post sea front. With sunset, the ships would fire colourful flares and switch on the outline illumination lights, a press release from ANC said. Port Blair, Jan. 23 PMEGP scheme aims to produce employment opportunities in both urban and rural areas in India through the establishment of new self-employment projects, micro-enterprises and ventures. The scheme acted as catalyst of change for many young people who dream of being financially independent through self employment venture. One such person is Shri B.Sivaraman, who had faced a lot of struggle before starting his Subsidy oriented Govt. sponsored scheme of PMEGP enabled young man to earn livelihood self employment venture. He was only 23, when he landed in these Islands in search of a livelihood. He started working as a sales assistant in a general sales outlet here at Port Blair. With no knowledge on how to avail any financial assistance for setting up a venture, he got stagnated working below his employer. Gradually, he started learning how to ply an auto rickshaw and received his Driving license and NOC from the Transport Port Blair, Jan. 23 As part of the birth anniversary celebration of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism organized a mega cleanliness drive at Viper Island today. During the drive, the Mega cleanliness drive conducted by staff of IP&T Deptt. at Viper Island 40 sacks of plastic wastes collected and handed over to PBMC staff of IP&T collected 40 sacks of plastic wastes and other debris from the Island which were segregated and transported to Junglighat Jetty. Thereafter, the collected wastes were handed over to PBMC staff for further processing. The team was led by Senior Investigator, Shri Sunil Halder and Shri Emlus Lakra, Receptionist, a press release from Directorate of IP&T said. Port Blair, Jan. 23 As part of the 'Prashasan Aapke Dwaar' initiative under the aegis of the District Administration, South Andaman, a Revenue Camp Court was held by Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman in the Panchayat Bhawan, Mannarghat. Shri Hari Kallikkat, AC (SA) and other Officers of the District Administration and line Departments attended the camp court. The general public and their representatives raised various issues 'Prashasan Aapke Dwaar': Revenue Camp Court organized at Mannarghat Administration committed towards timely redressal of grievances: DC (SA) assures public which include sub- division of land, wherein there is lack of consensus among the cotenants, formal transfer of rights in respect of land acquired through agreement, earth cutting and development of land for bonafide uses and development of playground and parking spaces, etc. The Special Officer, Gram Panchayat had requested for setting a part of the land a day before the camp court for parking space in front of Community Hall, Mannarghat and after due process, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman approved the proposal and the set part order was issued in the Camp Court. The general public and the PRIs expressed their gratitude for the prompt action in this respect. The applicants who had applied for various e-Tehsil services like, Income Certificate, Local Certificate and Senior Citizen Certificate etc., were UPSC Member to visit Isles Port Blair, Jan. 23 Dr. Manoj Soni, Member Union Public Service Commission will be arriving here tomorrow (Jan. 24) on a four day visit to the Islands. Port Blair, Jan. 23 The Department of Agriculture, A&N Administration is implementing 'Direct Benefit Transfer' (DBT) Project as per the direction of the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers for fertilizer subsidy payment with a view to improve fertilizers service delivery to the farmers. The scheme is introduced to rational sale of fertilizers to the Agriculture Deptt. providing fertilizer to farmers on 20% cost subsidy & 100% transport subsidy 750 MT Neem Coated Urea distributed to all Sub-Depots accurate targeted beneficiaries for direct and visible impact of the benefits to intended users, so that the leakages or diversion could be minimized. Under this scheme, tracking of actual buyers is possible which reduces black marketing and reduces overcharging by the retailers.
