QUESTION 3A Dog can “smell” what you are feeling – TRUE or FALSE?

Answer: TRUE

Your Pup can pick up on subtle changes in scent, which can help him figure out how you are feeling – for example, change in perspiration when you are nervous or fearful. It’s also likely how dogs can detect certain diseases or know that household member is pregnant.

Financial Tracking and Accountability

Responsible management of

Financials is critical to realize

your strategic project vision and

direction.

Shelter/Rescue Project/Program

BOTH in Project Management and in Shelter Management, there has to be common goal among the team. In Rescue work, it’s especially key, it means saving more lives.

COSTS: You must closely track ACTUALS i.e. spend, operating costs, fixed costs, labor and…

STATUS REPORTING: REPORT your project health and financial status back to your donors, stakeholders.

FUNDING PROJECTS: You also must show responsible spend on your projects in order to get funding for future work (i.e. grants for facility improvement, supplies, medical subsidies).

15

Leadership with Empathy and Patience

“Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.”-Peter Drucker

“How are YOU today?” –

“How can I help make

things easier ?”

3.

“Are you my Pack Leader, I need some guidance!”

Page 16: PM Forum Presentation_Rescue_Glancey_FINAL V2 2017

16

Count Small Achievements

Often achievement and progress on Projects over time is slow. Celebrate small success, it’s the larger picture that counts…

Have you ever looked at a plant and got impatient at the rate it was growing because you can’t actually see it change?

THEN…suddenly, it bloomed and you wondered when it happened?

Remember that each day, it got taller.
