PMI Metrolina Background
• In 2011, there were almost 2 million retired military members (excluding honorary Retirements). Roughly 25% were officers, the rest were enlisted. In North Carolina, there were 177,253 military retirees. In 2011 alone, there were over 34,000 new retirees.

PMI Metrolina Military Outreach – Program Background • In 2011, there were almost 2 million
retired military members (excluding honorary Retirements). Roughly 25% were officers, the rest were enlisted. In North Carolina, there were 177,253 military retirees. In 2011 alone, there were over 34,000 new retirees.
• North Carolina is home to 10 military installations of various sizes. As of 2015, there are approximately: – 135,600 active military – 144,500 retired military – 25,000 civilian employees

PMI Metrolina Military Outreach – Program Approach There are two primary audiences this program must address: • Active duty, guard, and reserve • Separating and retired
For active duty audiences, our focus will include: • PM Training • Certification • TAPS, Soldier for Life participation
For separating and retired audiences, we will focus on: • Training for certifications • Job hunting skills – resume review, so on • Job hunting via networking and Skillfest-like
events
