PMI Certifications
PMP CAPM Designed to objectively assess the competency of the experienced project manager
Designed for project team members and entry-level project managers
Must have between 4500 hours and 7500 hours depending on educational background and criteria for overlapping experience PLUS 35 contact hours of formal project management education.
Must have at least 1500 hours of work on project teams OR 23 contact hours of formal project management education.
Exam questions are more trivial, tricky and deep in the subject.
Exam questions are from the surface of the subject more about the process.

PMP Credentialing Process
• Project experience must be in leading and directing project tasks (as identified in the PMP Examination Specification)
• Download copy of Project Management professional Credential Handbook
• Random audit notification comes after the eligibility notification is issued and payment of the exam fee is remitted

• Complete application forms (education and experience verification) online at www.pmi.org
• Writing Fees – PMP– Fee: $405 members, $555 non-members– Rewrite: $275 members, $375 members

Completing the Application
• You will receive via email an Exam Eligibility Letter within 5 days of meeting criteria and submitting all documentation (ensure a valid email address is provided)
• PMP exam is offered via computer at the Sylvan Learning Centre at 17-200 Meadowood, St. Vital (see 2test.com for a complete list of computer based testing locations)
Completing the Application
• You have 1 year from date approved to write the exam
• You have 3 attempts to write and pass• Candidate will have to wait one year from the
3rd unsuccessful attempt before being permitted to reapply
The PMP Exam
• 200 multiple choice questions in 4 hours• Questions are mostly situational, may have 2
correct answers, however looking for the best answer

• Meet no less than once per week– Plan for 2 hours per meeting– Convenient time & location– No distractions
• Plan for a minimum of 1 meeting per PMBOK section– 9 knowledge areas & intro, 12 weeks– Add couple of more weeks for organization and
