COURSE DESCRIPTION & PURPOSE

This conference will satisfy the educational needs of practicing pain professionals. Our diverse and multidisciplinary faculty will present a "whole person" approach to treatment of chronic pain. Modern neuroscience has demonstrated that pain requires interdisciplinary treatment. We will be developing a multi-component treatment program that targets relief for mental suffering, increases strength and uses treatments that change and optimize neural pathways.

During Day 1 of the conference, a live patient with complex medical needs will be presented to the audience. A real-time panel evaluation will be performed. Treatment planning with audience participation will occur. The interdisciplinary faculty will share evidence based strategies for pain relief including (1) brain retraining, (2) use of new technologies (i.e., injectables), (3) electrical stimulation, (4) functional medicine, (5) laser therapies, and (5) standard medication uses, (6) and the value of REMS in balancing addiction concerns.

A symposium on avoiding legal and regulatory problems while administering state of the art pain care will be presented. Current DEA and government positions on pain care, and new ICD-10 coding will be discussed in detail. Ways to avoid common pitfalls in practice will be shared.

Come join our nationally and internationally recognized, expert faculty who are published and dynamic speakers! Our exhibitors are a diverse group including modern and established devices and methods of pain relief and treatment planning tools. We will enjoy great meals and networking opportunities in beautiful, sunny Orlando under the palm trees! This course is designed for pain professionals including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, nurses, occupational and physical therapists and others interested in clinical pain management.
