How to Get Started!

EACH ITEM MUST BE COMPLETED

General Admission ApplicationAll students are required to submit an FTCC application. Even if you have previously attended, you will need to submit an application to reactivate your fi le. You may submit it online at www.faytechcc.edu or submit a paper copy. To avoid delays, complete every question.

Financial AidTo apply for grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study opportunities: (1) begin by completing the FAFSA Worksheets that can be found online or in the Financial Aid Offi ce, Room 137, Tony Rand Student Center, (2) complete and submit the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov using the FTCC school code: 007640, and (3) after processing your FAFSA, you will be notifi ed via your FTCC email if further documentation is required.

VA Benefi tsFor Veterans and dependents, apply for benefi ts in the VA Offi ce located on Main Campus, Room 119, Tony Rand Student Center.

High School TranscriptContact your high school (or GED institution) and request that they send an offi cial transcript to the Admissions Offi ce.

College Transcript(s)Contact ALL colleges where you have attended and request that they send an offi cial transcript to the Admissions Offi ce. Submit DD214, AARTS, and College Credit Test scores (e.g., CLEP), if applicable.

Placement Entry AssessmentCall the Testing Offi ce at (910) 678-8417 to schedule an appointment for the Placement Entry Assessment-Accuplacer. (Appointments are also available at the Spring Lake Campus and the Ft. Bragg Center.) The Accuplacer will assess your skills on reading comprehension, sentence skills, arithmetic, and algebra. The results will be used to place you in the appropriate courses. Study guides are available online.

Student Education Plan (SEP)Meet with a counselor to choose your program of study and receive an SEP. Counseling Services is available on Main Campus, Spring Lake Campus, and the Ft. Bragg Center. If you need assistance choosing a career, take advantage of the services in the Career Center on Main Campus.

RegistrationRegister for courses as scheduled. New students should attend the “new student orientation.” Current students may register via the internet using WebAdvisor or during regular registration periods.

Pay Tuition and FeesYou must ensure that your tuition and fees are paid by the payment deadline. Failure to pay you tuition and fees will result in the purge (deletion) of your registration. If your classes are purged, you must register for your classes again.

Student ID CardStudents should obtain a Student ID card from Student Activities by providing your registration schedule and proof of payment of tuition. You should have your ID card on your person at all times when on campus.

Parking DecalStudents should obtain a Parking Decal from the Security Offi ce, Room 132, Tony Rand Student Center, by providing the vehicle registration for each vehicle, a valid student ID card, and if applicable, proof of handicap registration.
