When asked how he would describe Brickworld events to someone that hasn’t attended, Executive Director and LEGO fan, Bryan Bonahoom, said “The displays at the event are awe inspiring. The detailed ideas and creativity of the artists and engineers always amaze.Brickworld displays include trains, robots, cityscapes, space stations, and much more. Bryan also added “Brickworld is different than LEGOLAND ® . The LEGO creations are much more detailed because they don’t have to withstand the weather like the displays at LEGOLAND. And, they are all labors of love done by enthusiasts that want to impress everyone.Brickworld showcases many local LEGO artists and engineers from the state of Florida through a partnership with the Greater Florida LEGO Train Club and the Orange County LEGO User Group. There are also displays coming from as far away as Toronto, Canada and Boston, MA. These displays are invited because they are crowd favorites and award winning creations from other Brickworld events. The LEGO brick is widely recognized as one of the most educational toys in the world. At Brickworld, kids of all ages can witness an incredible variety of ways to use the brick for art and engineering applications. Using the LEGO brick exercises creativity, engineering skills and hand-eye coordination. Brickworld Tampa will be held on September 19 and 20, 2015 at the Special Events Building on the Florida State Fairgrounds (enter off of MLK). Hours are 10 AM 6 PM on Saturday and 10 AM 5 PM on Sunday. Admission is $12, under 3 are free. We are also pleased to honor our active duty and reserve service men and women with a discounted $9 adult ticket (military ID required). Tickets available at the door or online via the Brickworld web site at http://www.brickworld.us/tampa/ .
