Boiling Eggs

Before the first use

Wipeovertheheatingvesselwithadampcloth.Washtheplasticpartsinwarmsoapywater,rinseanddry.

Boiling Eggs

Upto6eggscanbecookedatonetime.

1.Usingthemeasuringcup,measuretheamountofwaterrequiredandpourintotheheatingvessel.Usecoldtapwater.

Eg.For2softeggs,refertothesectionmarked onthemeasuringcupandfillthecuptothelinemarked2.For3hardboiledeggs,refertothesectionmarked

onthemeasuringcupandfilltothelinemarked3.Seefigure1.

2.Eggshaveanairpocketinthelargeendoftheshellandtheycancrackduringcookingastheairexpandsfromtheheat.Thuspiercingeggspreventsthemfromcrackingduringcooking.

Piercethelargeendoftheeggusingtheeggpiercerwhichisontheundersideof

themeasuringcup.Todothis,simplyplacethelargeendoftheeggagainsttheeggpiercerandpressthepiercerintotheegg.

Important:Avoidinjuriesfromtheeggpiercer.

3.Positiontheeggrackovertheheatingvesselandplacetheeggsintheeggrackwiththelargeendsfacingdown.

4.Placethecoverovertheeggs.

Important:Ensurethesteamventfacesawayfromyou.

5.Inserttheplugintoa230–240voltACpoweroutletandturnthepoweron.

6.Tocommencecooking,turnthedialto‘cook’,orto‘cook ’ifyouwishthebuzzertosoundwhencookinghascompleted.

Thesecookingtimesareaguidelineonly.Timeswillvarydependingonthenumberofeggscooked,thesizeandthetemperatureofeggsbeingused.

Forothervegetables,cutintoevensizechunks,theharderthevegetablethesmallerthepiecesshouldbe.Usethe settingasaguide.

To clean the heating vesselWipeoverwithadampcloth.Donotuse

harshabrasivesasthesewillscratchthenon-sticksurface.

Aftercleaningtheheatingvessel,rubasmallamountofvegetableorcookingoilintothenon-sticksurface.Thisallowseasierremovalofmineraldepositsthatexistnormallyinwater.

Important:Donotimmersetheunitinwateroranyotherliquid.

Careisrequiredwhenhandlingtheeggpierceronthemeasuringcup.

Eggsarenature’scontributionto‘fastfood’.Convenientlypackaged,simpletouseandinexpensive.Theyareanextremelynutrient-densefood,providingvitamins,minerals,proteinandfats,withthestandardsizeeggcontainingonly300KJ.Anutritious,balancedmealcanbemadeinunder10minutesbyservingaboiledorpoachedeggwithtoastandorangejuice.Dresseduporservedplainly,aneggalwaystastesandlooksgreat.• Whenpurchasing,avoidcrackedorbroken

eggsandcheckthe‘bestby’dateonthecarton.

• Storeeggsintherefrigeratorwiththepointedsidedownintheircarton.Thisreducestheriskofdamage,slowsdownmoisturelossandpreventseggsfromabsorbingodoursfromstrongsmellingfoods.

• Ifarecipespecifiesusingeggsatroomtemperature,simplyremovethemfromtherefrigerator30minutesbeforeusing.

• Totestforfreshness,placeanegginabowlofcoolwater.Ifitsinks,itisfresh–ifitfloats,throwitout.

• Chillhardboiledeggsincoldwaterimmediatelyaftercookingtopreventbluediscolourationaroundtheyolk.

• Hardboiledeggsaremucheasiertosliceiftheyarecold.Ifyoudon’thaveaneggslicer,useasharp,thin-bladedknife,dippingintocoldwatereveryfewslices.

• Refrigeratedassoonastheycool,boiledeggswillkeepforupto1week.
