INSTRUCTIONS FOR POE

Instructions to learner to compile the Portfolio of Evidence:

A Portfolio of Evidence contains the following:

• Copies of reflections and any work completed during the contact training phase

• Copies of worksheets completed following the contact training phase

Evidence must be in the form of a portfolio where documented proof exists for all research done by the learner.

This is your Portfolio of Evidence. All categories have been organised and you must ensure that clear distinctions

are made between each category. Follow the instructions carefully and ensure that you attach the evidence that is

required.

Please ensure that your PoE is handed in for assessment on the agreed time, date and venue!

INDIRECT EVIDENCE

Indirect Evidence is evidence produced about the learner from another source. This is usually in the form of reports

of third-party sources, i.e., sources other than the assessor. Indirect evidence can be used to verify the authenticity

of other forms of evidence.in addition, it may be necessary to corroborate these forms of evidence. Sources of

indirect evidence include:

• Team outputs

• Work completed at an earlier stage

• Performance appraisals

• Training records

• Testimonials

• Reviews and commendations

• Certificates and qualifications

• Medals, prizes and trophies

• Customer / client ratings

Please attach any indirect evidence you may have on the required outcomes within the PoE in the insertions

provided.

Fixed Hose Reels and Ancillary Extinguishing Equipment

for and explain why.

Practical Assessment Work Based Evidence

INSTRUCTIONS

• This Practical Assessment must be completed by the learner once training has been

attended.

• Arrange a suitable time with your line manager / assessor who must be present during

this assessment to authenticate it

• A venue must be arranged where you will not be disturbed

• Follow the required outcomes carefully

• You may choose to supplement your assessment by including documents you have

produced in the workplace. If you choose to do this, these documents must be

authenticated by your workplace mentor / assessor and you may then submit them as

part of an inclusion, clearly marked, in your PoE

Summative Assessments Knowledge Test

INSTRUCTIONS

• This Knowledge Test must be completed by the learner once training has been attended.

• Complete all the questions using black ink.

• Read the questions carefully and then fill in the answer in your answer sheet that your assessor

will provide you with.

• Write legibly in the language agreed – namely English.

• Label drawings clearly (if applicable).

• You may ask the assessor for clarity, should you not understand the questions being asked

• The required mark to be declared competent is 75%
