The HowThis is part of a series of poetry books is arranged in

groups of difficulty ranging from 1 to 5. The easiest is group1, the hardest group 5. It is not just that group 1's are shorter, they are the easiest to read, be spoken or remembered. Theygradually rise to group 5 which have slightly older concepts. There is no bad language or offensive words anywhere in thesepoems.1 - short easy rhyming 2 - medium easy rhyming3 - medium long rhyming 4 - medium complex5 - bugger concepts These PDF books are best viewed with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The WhatTowards this end I have

created a series of verse thatshould appeal to the young of allages. Some word rhymes, syllablegames, others have deeper levelsof meaning. The verse scan andare easily learned for fun andgames.

The Why What How and Who

The WhyIt is the shame of our times that the

rhymes and verse most quoted, recitedand trawled up again and again are on themost part hundreds of years old. Myinterest is trying to put a more moderngroup of verse into the public domain. Bynow children should be skipping to rhymesother than sixteenth century accounts ofthe black death.

Fun illustrated rhyming poems for young(and old) children to sing and recite.

All these poems are royalty free and can be copiedused printed and distributed, scrawled on walls, dancedto and generally treated as if they were something to beenjoyed rather than just scary poetry.

Tony J MoonUmble Fly

The Umble Fly The Umble fly,No one minds The Umble fly,

The Umble Fly Eats Umble Pye,That's why it's called The Umble Fly,

The Tick Tack tree Is very small,No one knows It's there at all,

The Tick Tack tree Attracts the fly,It eats the leaves And makes it die,

It's quite unknown To find this fly,So no one minds The Umble Fly.

Little Kiwi

A small little Kiwi Was feeling so sad,He wanted to fly See the world from the sky,Trees from above The on his feathers,

Feeling quite down He pulled at some string,A baloon was caught In the branches above,Somthing the Kiwi Was quite unaware,

The baloon gently rose Kiwi hung on,His eyes grew wider As higher he went,The world was below For now,He was actually flying.

Rain

I think rain Is quite diverting,It's better than cream cakes Or muffins and jam,It trickles right down To my toes,It's better than sun And twice as much fun,You can kick it around In the road.

Locksmith Quin

Locksmith Quin Had a hat of tin,He bought it in the market, And kept it in a bin,He had a ginger cat An a dog called vin,But he's nothing of a soldier Is locksmith quin,He went to join the army They would'nt let him in,He went to join the navy They said its not for him,He also keeps a turtle In an old tin bath,But he's nothing of a soldier Is locksmith Quin.

Rats

Perhaps some rats Are quite nice chaps,But none of them play tennis, I don't mind miceOr hedgehogs, Although their games not good,I'll play a bear Or kangarooBut rats they don't play tennis, A mallabooWill win right through And never loose a service,There's scraggy bats And handsome cats,Whose game is quite inspiring, There are big baboonsAnd small raccoons, I'll even play a gerbil,There sporting chaps Who like some fun,But rats they don't play tennis.

Mr Potterly Owns a shop,Inside which There's a great big clock,

When I was small Say two foot four,I'd see the clock With its great oak door,

I used to think The door was wobblyI wanted to go And walk inside, >2

>2

Living there Is a manCalled Button, And he's gotA clockwork pig,

He winds it up And lets it rumble,Up the side And through a thimble,

Mr Potterlys Shops not there,They pulled it down Which isn't fair.

By the way.

Puddings and trees Silly old cats,Places to put A new bike,Teachers and squeakers And owls at night,They don't make a sound When they fly,Ticking faster Clocks are afterEvery loose moment Of time,Missing a train No longer a strain,Talking to Someone like you.

Tony J MoonMandarin Duck

The Mandarin Duck Was rather in luck,The wind it was blowing The way he was going,To Scotland To have a short break,He had taken his hat A mack and a sponge,He had been there before In what they call summer,

The Mandarin Duck Had been in the Zoo,Being looked at For most of the summer,It is very hard work Being watched every day,The keeper of ducks Detected the strain,Said take a week off Go find some rain,It is so much more fun When he rain has begun,If you are in luck And a Mandarin Duck. Page 15

Suddenly.

Suddenly now I hear a cow,The song of summer In my eyes,The smell of hay A dawning day,Where squirrels scratch And chickens hatch,Beneath A summer sun,

Dancing bats Summer hats,A crows long nose A trees new leaves,Boxing hares New deck chairs,The dancing hours Of chocolate flowers,Reflect A summer sun,Suddenly its summer.

Water

The water came down In gigantic great showers,Down from the clouds For hours and hours,The water was splashing The water was wet,The water was wetter Than wet can get,It soaked down my wellies It got up my mack,It even splashed Got under my hat,Running or standing Or hiding in trees,I had to accept I was bound to be wet.

Rivers are Rushing,Rivers are Free,Rivers are racing Down to the sea,Sparkling shining Splash over rocks,Never you bother I'm washingMy socks,

Were you a Spring,From deep Underground,Up in the mountains With barely a flow,Were you a ditch A long time ago,You feel so Cold,When I dip in My toe, >2

>2Home to the Ducks,Happy green Frogs,Bath to the Sparrows,And scratchy old Dogs,Yet still Of an evening,Reflecting a cow,

Gurgle and flow This wayAnd that, Fish swimmingStrongly, How quicklyThey go, Lean too far overDropped in my hat, Please Mr River,Give it me Back.

Tony J MoonArmadillo

An Armadillo's happy When he's sleeping in the sun,An Armadillo's happy When he has a little run,And he's very happy When he finds some ants to eat,For armadillo's happy He's never sad at all,

An Armadillo's happy When he rolls up in a ball,An Armadillo's happy When he bumps into a wall,And he rocks with laughter When the rain begins to fall,For Armadillo's happy He's never sad at all,

An Armadillo's happy When he's playing with a twig,An Armadillo's happy When he's running from a pig,And he's so delighted When he finds out where he is,For an armadillo's happy He's never sad at all. Page 19

The Who

If you have reached this far you might bewanting to know something about the writer. Thetrouble is I do not really want everybody to knowall about me, it has taken me years to give peoplethe impression that I am normal. I am not going todestroy all that by telling all here.

Only on dark moonless nights do pick up thegolden quill of Shakespeare and try to make theworld a better prose for good words to live in.

Tony on the Moon’s Fun Poetry - Level 2 - Book 1 - 2014

Shakespeares quill Is beginning to stir,Tony has dipped it In the ink pot,What prose will form What words will flow,But the ink pot falls over And all that now flows,Is dirty black ink All over his cloths.
