Page 2: Poetry is for everyone

The Bio poem can be used for many different purposes

To show things about yourself

To show comprehension of characters in a piece of

literature

To help you elaborate on details

Page 3: Poetry is for everyone

• I am a reader

• I wonder about what

will happen next

• I hear the sounds of

alliteration

• I see the scene

described on the page

• I want the plot to

thicken

• I am a reader

• I pretend to be one of

the characters

• I feel the raised ink on

the page

• I touch the leather

bound book

• I worry when the

conflict rises

• I cry when the narrator

tells me my hero has

failed

• I am a reader

Page 4: Poetry is for everyone

• I understand that the book must end

• I say that it couldn’t have ended a better

way

• I dream that another book will come out in

the series

• I try to let go of my attachment

• I hope another book will take my mind from

missing this one

• I am a reader

1. Convey meaning through words and their placement

2. Help create meaning through images

COLD

You own me,

infirm delight.

Driven to extinction –

fight back,

battle your way through.

Twitch-up snares,

barely audible,

your mouth is a melody with

whispers like poetry

which gave me a sense of security I

lacked.

Seasons went by,

dividing the work and the spoils.

That’s dangerous.

Return to the snowy

wonderland,

Siberian tundra,

permafrost in late

September

left for primordial creatures.

Success in circuit lies

within freedom of movement

where every man be blind.

Share our knowledge

and dribble to the beat of

this instrumental dance.

Try making one another way if you didn’t like using all these different options.

through your own

inventory and use

the titles you like)

2. Song Lyrics

3. Video Game

articles

4. Video Game

dialogue

5. Book Titles

6. Plays or Movies

7. Pick one and do

several from that

category.

Page 14: Poetry is for everyone

Slow me down.

Shut me up.

Stop me if you think that

you’ve heard this one

before.

Rhiannon,

Smoke two joints

On the edge of 17

And tell me lies

When the thunder rolls

At the rodeo

Or the dance.

I think I’m paranoid.

A Celebrity skin

Creep.

According to you,

Mr. Brightside

Who knew?

Smile like you mean

it

When you were

young.

Imagine

The beautiful people

And get free.

All the small things

Are almost easy

After life.

You oughta know

Ironic

Miss Murder.

Dirty deeds done

dirt cheap

By a smooth

criminal.

You give love a bad

name,

Ex-girlfriend,

With dirty little secret

Night lies.

A clean shot

Inside the fire.

Don’t speak

Monster.

Run to the hills

Jesus of suburbia.

A bad romance,

A bad reputation,

One way or another

Another one bites the

dust

To Kryptonite

Wonderboy.

Page 15: Poetry is for everyone

Go your own way

Or swing swing

Rebel girl.

Piece of my heart

Inside out

To welcome

home

Lucid dreams.

Do you want to

Take me out

Or bring me to

life?

I wanna be

sedated

So call me when

you’re sober.

Here I go again

Waking the

That’s what you

get,

Heartbreaker.

Hit me with your

best shot

Love man.

Oh, pretty woman

Give it away

Under the bridge

Or, last resort,

Under the board

walk.

Drop it like it’s hot

Hot child in the

city.

Say it ain’t so

Buddy Holly.

Pieces of you,

Almost lover,

Hurt

Alone in this bed.

You were meant for

me

Poker face.

Near to you

I touch myself.

Foolish games

And self esteem

My own worst enemy.

Underneath it all,

Just a girl

Behind blue eyes.
