We are committed to focusing on building individual strengths and pas- sions. We are attempting to do this by creating strong partnerships with our parents, support agencies and other external providers to support student needs. To ensure greater success for every student we are working hard to embed systems that will review individual progress and celebrate success of every child. Every week I look forward to sharing more success stories with you about our PCPS students. Below are some examples of students who have produced clever pieces of work after the teacher has differentiated the lesson to suit their learning needs in Science & Technology and English. SCHOOL UNIFORM REVIEW According to the Department of Education (DOE) it is a requirement of all schools to review how they implement the DOE Uniform policy on a three year cycle. To meet this requirement the school executive and the P&C Uniform Committee will be meeting on 22 March 2019 to review current practices and to ensure that the school meets the required guidelines. In addition to this, the meeting will also discuss the possibility of introduc- ing house coloured t-shirts for “in-school” sporting activities. We would greatly appreciate our community feedback about this proposal and any other general feedback about the school uniform via the following survey. Please note that the survey will close on 21 March 2019 at 5pm. https://tinyurl.com/y2qdgnej Friday, 29 March, 2019

SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS At Point Clare Public School, every student is known, valued and cared for. We are committed to focusing on building individual strengths and pas-sions. We are attempting to do this by creating strong partnerships with our parents, support agencies and other external providers to support student needs. To ensure greater success for every student we are working hard to embed systems that will review individual progress and celebrate success of every child. NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST BULLYING AND VIOLENCE This Friday our school will be participating in the National Day of Action against Bullying. The children in all class-es from K-6 have been participating in a range of activities aimed at reducing the frequency of bullying and developing a stronger understanding of what bullying actually is for the children. This will be further reinforced by our Peer Support program which will be focusing on Anti-bullying as the first major topic of the year. Our clever Stage 3 students are learning how to be an effective Peer Support Leader today in preparation for the program launch in a few weeks’ time. Additionally our teaching staff have been working through some profes-sional development opportunities around Anti- Bullying and have collectively agreed to complete three more courses after work hours through the E-safety commissioner. The staff will be involved in these activities after school hours on April 30th, May 7th and June 6th.

SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT DAY VARIATION – FRIDAY 12 APRIL 2019After consulting with our P&C Association, the school teaching & administration staff and our Educational Director, Point Clare Public School will finish Term 1 one day earlier than previously advertised. The students will now finish Term One on Thursday the 11 April, 2019 and will resume school for Term 2 on Monday 29 April 2019. The reason for the change is due to a whole school professional learning event that is only possible on the 12 April 2019 for the teaching staff. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our families and the wider community. We ask that all families please make alternative arrangements for your children on that specific date - 12 April, 2019 Mr Scott Campbell - Principal
