PointSharp Mobile Gateway supports a mixed environment with both managed and unmanaged devices. There is no need to install a client or sandbox on the device. This will ensure a posi-tive user experience for both private and corporate use. This is also important from a cost and privacy perspective. PointSharp Mobile Gateway works with all smart devices in the market by using the native built in ActiveSync client for e-mail, contacts and calendar.
Technology
Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is supported by all mobile devic-es available today. The PointSharp Mobile Gateway processes the ActiveSync protocol, adding granular security policies to Microsoft Exchange. Polices are set in the PointSharp Server and enforced in the Mobile Gateway. PointSharp products runs on a Windows Server.
Strong Authentication
PointSharp Mobile Gateway protects the user Exchange account from being compromised. The user is authenticated and the device is identified, and a partnership between the user and the devices is confirmed.
Built with Microsoft ActiveSync ensures support for all devices.
Data Loss Prevention
PointSharp Mobile Gateway includes an advanced policy engine that can create unique security policies based on user role, de-vice type and content. Polices can be customized to protect what’s important and give control of what is allowed to be syn-chronized to mobile devices.
User experience preserved
With PointSharp Mobile Gateway, the user experience of E-mail, Contact and Calendar is preserved. Integration with social media and other features is untouched and the user can enjoy the device as it was designed. If a sand-box environment is required for some users, this can be added by choosing among the available 3rd party sandboxes supporting Ex-change ActiveSync.
