• The capital city of the Poland is Warszawa.• Polish President is Bronislaw Komorowski .• Polish Prime Minister is Donald Tusk .• There are 16 provinces in Poland.

GEOGRAPHY

• Poland is a country in central Europe. There are lakes, Baltic Sea and mountains in it. The moutain ranges are: Carpathian, Sudetes, Tatras, Beskids and Bieszczady.

FAMOUS PEOPLE FROM POLAND

• I want to describe four of most famous people of science, literature and music.

• First of them is Maria Skłodowska – Curie. She discovered two elements: polonium and radium. She was first women who won a Nobel prize.

• The second person is Fryderyk Chopin. He was a composer and virtuoso pianist. Many of his works were published after Chopin's death.

POLISH MONUMENTS and Interesting Places

There are lots of monuments and interesting places in Poland.

Wawel Royal Castle in Krakow

Wawel Castle was built on the hill. Medieval legends tell stories about an evil dragon that lived in a cave on Wawel Hill. Polish kings used to live in this castle.

Historic crane in Gdansk

The oldest documented mention of Zuraw as a wooden port crane was in 1367. The large crane was used to place masts on ships and to load cargo. The crane is gate to the city too

Warsaw Old TownWarsaw Old Town is an oldest fragment of the city. It

was destroyed during the World War II and reconstructed after the war. There are: Royal castle, King Zygmunt III Waza Column, Church of St. Martin, Old Town Market Square and Monument of the Warsaw Mermaid.
